I am confused here. I have read about NPPL in mags and clips of them but I have no idea what they are talking about when they refer to this Robot. Can someone shed some light on this?

it is a thing designed by jim drew of was. it supposably hits the trigger a number of times, counts how many shots were fired, and the BPS of each and every ball. checks for bounce and dwell ramping. pretty simple stuff

I did not see it, but apparently it was on site. They are trying to get enough for each field to have one. It's supposed to detect bounce and various other cheater modes.

If y'all check out MooGles thread "NPPL plans to enforce strict new rules for cheater guns!" he talks about the robot that they are going to start using:

Apparently the robot wasn't operational, they didn't have the proper laptop on hand to actually run the machine. Bob Long and Terry from BLAST used their laptop to try it on their Intimidators but it never was actually used at the event.

I do however expect it to be ready for Tampa.

good photos, looks like JD is going to get the spotlight this year without being over shadowed by the "kids."
