I got the post 2002 AIR. I bought the all the tools and followed the directions sent but I can't get a part out. It shows how to use the T-handle tool to extract it but I can't seem to get it out like it says to. So I can't replace the main seal. I followed the directions I have exactly(from the manual and tool kit) It doesn't look like it even fits where it says to put it?? I am lost. If anyone can post pictures or something it would be a great help..

check the WDP site....there is an online troubleshooting section with picstures. I'd give you the url but I'm at work so I can't view the WDP site. It has good pics, and a step by step on how to change the main seal.

You must be talking about the seal retainer,AR006 in any manual or parts list.Does your tool not fit in to it,so you can unscrew it?-It is a round bore with a knotch in it which is also cylindrical. This should unscrew(counterclockwise)and the main seal and o-ring are underneath it.Is this the problem that your having?--Mark

There is no notch in it for the tool to fit. Did they change that in the 2002 AIR's? Plus the manual on this site is for the older AIRs. I got one that looks completely different.

I bought an AIR at Cup, and after you remove the spring stack you can see the top of the rocket, and the large circle with a notch removed for the tool to fit into...is this what you're talking about? Did you check the WDP troubleshooting section?

I guess its the AR006 AKA seal retainer I am looking at. But it has no notch in it.

Superfly,I have 2 of the newer airs and 1 of the older styles. All of them have the notch in them.I wonder how they put it together with no notch to screw it in with?

I don't know how either but it doesn't have a notch so the T-handle can fit. When I got my kit and looked at the directions on the back that comes with the kit. Broke the reg down to that point. I looked at my AIR and the tool I was trying to figure out how it would fit. So what should I do? Send it to Cobra or something?

dude you have to pull out the piston after you take the spring stack out then you will see the notch in the main seal retainer....

Fly, Just call Eric@Angelparts.He's a wdp tech.He has all the parts to fix it.I get all my stuff from him,and he will talk to you and try to help.I'm sure you could run a self tapper in there and jam nut it and get it out,but you shouldn't have to pay for the kit(38+shipping).But then I work on my own stuff and am happy to get the parts, when I need them.He has all kind of stuff that isn't listed(there redoing it now),cops sensors, flip tone grips, cobra triggers, evo II's,etc. Just call.-------------Mark
