As of right now i have a Stainless Steel Hammer. I was looking around on the net making up my X-mas list!!!:drools: and i came across a Titanium hammer. After doing some research and stuff it says that the Titanium will have a smoother cycle rate etc... however i dont know if there is a big difference between that and the SS hammer...should i just keep the SS one?:puzzled:

I installed a Titanium hammer in mine and its definitely smoother when shooting. Just think, there is less mass going back and forth inside the gun during the firing cycle.

How much of a difference would the Titanium hammer make in terms of its weight? Is there a big difference between the weights of them? Mncastro you like your titanium hammer? Have you ever used a SS one? Thanks guys..

I say stick with the ole brass one. Shoots fine for me.

I've only use the brass hammer before this. Never used a stainless steel. Compared to the brass, there is a significant difference. You'll definitely feel the difference. But then again the brass hammer is so much heavier than the titanium.

Hmm yeah inoticed an improvement from the brass to my SS one. I just did not know if there was a difference between the SS and the titanium one. Frome what i have heard it sounds like they are about the same. Thanks for all your help guys.

the problem with the titanium hammer is that its lighter.lighter means it takes more force to whack the valve.lighter isnt better.for reference the ss and brass weight is almost the same so performance is not effected.

Yes I would stay away from a light titanium hammer, and get the stainless if anything. The only benefit the stainless has is that it won't wear down compared to the brass.

I've had my titanium hammer installed since the latter part of 1999. I've never had any problems with my Angel. But then again, I do maintain my gun as recommended by the WDP
