Can you only use a palm pilot, or can you get the software for a laptop? Because my friend doesn't feel like getting a palm just to mess with his settings. Thanks.

yep, only palm pilots will work, cant do it from a laptop
u can probably pickup a palm with IR for less than $100 nowadays though, probably much less

Hey Moogs, is there a certain range of the palms with IR's that the software will only work with or is it with any Palm that has an IR? Cause mine just broke and I might have to get a newer one wanted to make sure the software will still work.

any palm running the Palm OS with an IR port is supposed to work.

Has anyone tried running a Palm OS emulator on a laptop?
I have one and I can run the Angel software but I haven't tried sending it yet. I am not sure it will work/work correctly since the emulator may not properly support the laptop's IR port.
If I had another board to try it on I would but I am not gonna hose my only board.
Running an emulator in a laptop won't work. I tried 2 or 3 different emulator programs and it wouldn't work.

I am surprised that they haven't written a Windows variant to the software. I bet it would take 15 minutes to code. :P
I guess one is more likely to find an IR port on a Palm device than on a Windows-based PC.

that and i dont think too many people bring their laptop to the field.
but i'd still like to see a windows variant for my laptop :) , care to write one?

there is no available software for the Angel 4, they released the software for the IR3, and everything since then has been for tech's hands only.
