Posting for Vantage, he is banned for posting too much:
"No the LED bolt is shorter, meaning that the LCD bolt will be too long. I suppose you could cut it down, but there is not much point."

It would be hard because you would have to find a way to mount the metal piece that goes into the hammer and slides the bolt forward.

not only that but i dont know if the intake holes (where the air from the exhaust goes into the bolt) on the bolts are in the same location,
i dont have an led bolt on me so i cant say for sure

Yea that would be another problem aligning the holes, as well the A4 uses a different sized exhaust port then the LED or IR3 does so yea it would not be smart.

Plus you'd have to shave down the length.the bolt is to long for an LED breach.I tried.

now what about taking the tip from an a4 bolt and modifing an old led bolt to except it. sound possible? i've yet to inspect the a4 bolt with my own eyes so i'm not sure. what do you guys think?

Well I wouldnt try taking an A4 soft nosed bolt and doing, just take an LED venturi bolt and try to stick a rubber tip on it, that would be your best bet.

you'd have to drill out the center of the bolt face before you could possibly insert the soft a4 piece. but that's exactly what i'm talking about. hmmm i think i'm going to have to try this first hand.

Yea im going to give to give that a shot on my IR3 venturi bolt cause im never going to use it. Ive got me a dremel and im going to use it =D

i would not even try. just sell your led and buy a new a4 fly. they rock

hmmm led to a4 fly... what a great idea! OH WAIT! thiers only about a $1000 diff.
Ronny if you can post up some pics when you get done. let's see how this works out. i probly won't get a chance to try it for about another week.

Yea can do, and I dont exactly have the money to get me an A4 Fly, and this soft faced bolt thing is just an experiment.

That's like saying that someone should trade their '66 Mustang for a Honda Civic, because the Civic gets better mileage and comes with shinier wheels.
Not that I'm saying running an older marker is worthwhile just for the sake of running an older marker. It's just that this gentleman clearly wants to see if he can show an old marker a few new tricks, rather than "giving in" and thereby losing the entire experience of building a custom bolt with his own hands.
Make sense?

Actually you should be able to just chop the end of the a4 bolt so it measures up with an LED bolt. I just compared my IR3 bolts to my LED and the valve holes are in the same spot as well as the guide pins, just there is around an inch difference on the back end of the bolt. So if you where to chop that off so it would fit then your good to go.

can anyone take a picture of a a4bolt/any ir3 bolt next to a led bolt? that would be great if someone could... just to make sure everythings aligned..
You might want to measure the outside diameter of the A4 bolt also. I remember when the LCD came out they made a big deal about making the bore diameter bigger to be more paint friendly. I'm not positive but I think the diameter is bigger on LCD,IR3,SPEED,A4 as compared to Led's. Hope this helps. James

Yea hes right I never thought of looking at that. The LED bolt isnt as thick, so youd have to shave it.

hmm...cant we just like put a soft face on the bolt by cutting it off of a a4 bolt and gluing it on a led bolt..
might sound getto

Well you still need to shave down the diameter to get it to fit, and its not all that hard really, just chop of the end and shave it down a bit.

the pressure and force from the air would blow off that part

i remember FT57 from pbn use to use one of those soft "cushions" you get under phones,
he glued it on his ir3 or speed(cant remember) bolt and it help up for quite a while and gave him pretty good results
you could try doing something similar
but unless you are getting allota chopping problems, why would u want to do this
