How do you safely (without scratching the marker) take off the breach knob and replace it with a new? I'm a little confused on how it can stay on tightly in place when you turn it normally to open the rotabreach.

its easy, pull the breech and lift the breech block a little so the pin hits the block and not go into the hole. now turn counter clockwise. or you can just pull and keep turning untill it unscrews.

if your afraid of scraching your ano i wouldnt recommend a metal knob.

So the breech knob is not really screwed on tightly, but you just turn it one way then the other so it chances each time you open the breech?

even a plastic knob will wear out the anno eventually,

when it's closed the knob covers up the scratches anyways so it's not really a problem

Yup, this be true... Although the metal knob will do it in 1/2 the time.

a metal knob will probably do it in just 1 bad spin, but like i said, eventually the results will be the same so...
