View Full Version : Chopping Question - Modified my Egg2

I played last night with my A4 and chopped like crazy. It got so bad that the bolt would jam and the air would rush out of the gun. I have not had any chopping problems in the past and the only real change I made was to my Egg2 (Y-board) by shortening the feed tube that comes out of the front of the hopper. Could this cause my problem? The thing that's weird is that both my brothers cut down their Egg2's and they haven't had a problem (one has a Speed/Egg2 Y Board and the other has an A4/Egg2 Z Board).

Thanks!

some people had mentioned previously that if you cut the raceway incorrectly your balls would stop where the eye would be in the middle, and not blocking it causing the hopper to not 'see' a ball thus driving and then you'd get the half way balls like in the Halo. Just a though:dunno:

hmm, im going to try a test prob this weekend, see if you screw in a halo all the way down as to 1/4th inch gap.
im also getting a evo2, should come in next week. ill update if anything helps.

I cut my raceway, no problems. When I went to measure where to cut it I factored in the length that the raceway needed to be in order to catch the 4 o-rings in the clamping feed. I also made sure the raceway had a ball stack in there to make sure where I would cut would not create this problem. Mark it with a sharpie, remove the paint and hack away.

Sparco - I measured up my raceway as well before I cut it to make sure it would fit all the way down into the feed tube, however, I did not stack the raceway with balls to see how they would fit. Maybe I cut it right where the center of one of the paintballs would have been. I'll pick up some paint and check it out and repost.

Also, can I get a new raceway to replace the one on my hopper that I cut?

Thanks!!!

you can buy replacement raceways from the sponsors and various other retailers.

Thanks Emmit - I'll give Impact Paintball and see if they have any smoke colored raceways in stock.

Try lifting the feed tube by the amount you cut off, this will effectly put the paint in the position it was before. Then try it and see if it still chops.

I cut off 10mm and have had no problems. :x:
