I took the plunge and bought an used A.I.R. I filled it for the first time this past weekend and the LCD read about 150 psi. I screwed the allen screw at the top until it read L-P (or something similar) but when I tried to screw it the other direction the allen screw and the brass ring around it both turn in unison. At least that's what I think the problem is as I can't get the pressure to adjust up. So now I've got a tank filled to about 3000 psi that I don't know how to let the air out of. The round cap with the two holes that hold the shims in was a bit loose so I tightened that but it made no difference. I could send it to an Angel tech but I'd have to mail it so I need to get the air out first. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks. Actually I do have a toolkit. I used it to tighten the large black ring with the two holes in it for the ram adjustment tool. The problem I'm having is that turning the velocity adjustment screw doesn't seem to do anything. While I'm turning it, there's a brass colored ring between the larger black ring the ram adjustment tool fits on and the allen screw that turns with the screw. I'm presuming that this brass ring is supposed to stay in place while allen screw is turned. Maybe not. Regardless, turning the velocity screw in either direction doesn't seem to change anything.

Can anyone give me an idea of how best to decompress my A.I.R so I can get it serviced? I'm not sure of the best way to approach this since I can't get the velocity adjustment screw to work.

I had the same problem before, then I took off the black cap w/ the two holes on it and installed a Cobra AIR on/off thumb screw and now it works fine..........Oh yeah don't be scared to take that black cap off while you have air in it cause it won't blow out. If you check out some of the other threads most A.I.R. owners will agree with having an on/off cause you should use it when you refill your tank. Hope this helps!
