Yes im a newb at an angel, but I just got it. I hooked my macroline kit to my angel and my tank, and when I turned on my n2, the macro line exploded, and this was prefect macroline too, I dunno why. I put on some steel hoses than, but it leaks from the reg. My reg as like a button type thing at the buttom, its red on the right and silver on thje left, you can move it left and right. What is this for? I tried reading the manual, but couldnt find anything on it. Thanks

sounds like you've got a really old Angel. The original regs had an on/off button on the reg. However it sounds like your problem isn't the reg on the gun, it's your tank. If you blew macroline your pressure is way too high. Replacing it with steel braid hose didn't stop your problem it just moved it. I would seriously look at your tank. If your tank reg is bad, the reason that your mini-reg would be leaking now is that you've over pressurized it.

Its a 99 dark angel. Man this sucks, looks like I needa get a new tank :( What Should I get? low pressure or high pressure?

The reg you described it the early "on/off" type. It is so you can shut the air supply off to you marker. When red is pushed in, the air flows into the reg and into your marker. When the green side(you said silver, but it should be green), the air supply is blocked from entering your marker. It was not very popular, and quickly removed from Angel regs. Where is your reg leaking from? They can get leaks from worn out o-rings on that on/off switch. If it's leaking out of the little hole, then your reg is getting too much pressure or needs to be rebuilt. Try turning the velocity adjustment screw all of the way in. This should set the reg pressure as low as you can get it. Then hook you air back up to your marker(better if you have a test gauge instead, but....). If it still blows the line, your reg needs to be repaired or replaced. If it doesn't blow, then start backing the screw out while dry firing you marker until it sounds like it is close to 300fps. Then chrono the marker, and you should be good to go. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. What screw are you talking about though to adjust it? And yes, its leaking out of where the green/red thing is. What should I do :(

Also, my tank is a ACI Bulldog.

The velocity adjustment screw is the largest set screw on the side of reg. The small ones in the reg are cross lines, and should never be removed. The larger one is used to adjust your velocity. And as far as the leak on the on/off is concerned, you need to replace the o-rings on it if it is leaking there. The two halves will actually unscrew from each other. So, if you held the red side side, and unscrewed the green side, they should unscrew from each other and can be removed. Now, unfortunately they never come apart that easy. Most people have to put them in a vise or something. It's very hard to take them apart without scratching them. Once off, you can just simply replace the o-rings. Now the next bit of bad news. The o-rings are not the same as any where else in the marker, and since they came on only the early Angels, most shops will not have them in stock. You will probably have to contact a certified tech to get them, and when I last bought them, they weren't that cheap. If you have the means, I'd seriously consider getting an american threaded VA and a new reg. The older on/off regs were notorious for leaking where yours is. Even if you replace the o-rings, it may just start leaking there later. Hope that helps.

I also forgot to mention that I think that it would be jumping to conclusions to assume that you tank is bad, but it is easy to check. Just borrow or build a bottomline with a high pressure gauge installed where the line would usually be. You can then screw you tank into it and see what your output pressure is. It should be no higher then 900psi(should be around 850). As far as I know, those pressures are the max that macroline can safely take, so if your reg is turned all the way up, you may be blowing your macroline without any malfuntion of your equipment. The Angel reg has a small vent hole on the side of the reg that will bleed excess pressure if the pressure gets too high. So there's a chance that you just have the velocity screw turned all the way out(highest pressure). Now, I'm not saying that you don't have a problem somewhere, just that checking the output of your tank and the output of your reg cost nothing and are a good place to start.

I tested the pressure of my tank, its in the middle of 800-900, a little more towards 900 though. So what now? Should I try to mess with the reg?

Yes, now that you know the problem isn't your tank, move upstream to the next item. Since your reg is leaking from the on/off, it sounds like addressing that issue would be next. If you have to tear it apart to fix those o-rings, you might as well replace all of the o-rings in the reg. That should fix any problems in the regulator.

I messed it up I think, I might as well buy a new one, unless you can help me here. It was leaking just a TINY bit from the bottom small screw, so I took it off to put put some tuflon tape on it, well, the brass thing came out too, where the red and green buttons go into, now, I can get the brass thing in the right position so the red and green buttons can move in and out, *sigh* . if you can help me put it back together, thanks :duh:

What brass thing are you talking about. Please be more specific. If it's the brass collar that the buttons ride in, I think you're screwed. That's not supposed to move, and if it's loose, it could be why you have a leak. If it's one of the pistons or something, I can probably help. You can also download a diagram of the regulator on wdp's website.
