I was Shooting my speed with a Egg(friends) and it was shooting fine, but when i put on a halo and shot it it was like mad chopping so i cleaned it with my straight shot was it b/c i push my straight shot to far or what?

The straight shot will damage your sensi not your ball detents.
Halos push so strong that they usually manage to push the balls PAST the ball detents causing the next ball to half feed, which would be your source for "mad chopping". If you are gonna use a HALO try getting stronger detents. I hear the cobra ones are supposed to work good.
If you are gonna stick with the eggII dont worry about it, but if you are gonna use the HALO just buy stronger detents.

There are no aftermarket detents for the speed. Get the soft face bolt first and adjust your ram after you get it. That should help.

if ur going to be useing a halo i would suggest that you put a 9vt in it instead of the 6 AAs it will decrease the power a little. another thing check you sensi sensor make sure u didnt break it when u jamed that staight shot through there.

nvm my sensi isnt damaged
did you physically check the sensor and not just check the droptest?

yea the halo feeds it so strongly that the detents arnt strong enuf so they go right past

first steps to get a bad halo working well are properly adjust the ram, get a-4 bolt, try a low rise (i keep hearing this somehow helps), and turn down the halo's sensitivity, mine works great with my speed

my speed loves my halo. but my halo doesn't neccassarily like my speed it breaks my sensi. but the combintation shoots really really fast and im willing to pay for a new sensi every so often for that.
a4 bolt seemed to help a lot, and also paint was the biggest thing we found. paint that were small bore due to cold, or just brand chopped. we use blaze, and hellfire, and i haven't chopped a ball with my halo on my gun yet. except when my sensi gave out.

how do you adjust the halo's sensitivity?

just search its been covered here, u gotta pull it all apart and turn a little dial type thing. search the adjustment is easy!

ok then, how would i physically check that my sensi is not damaged other than the drop test?

take the gripframe off and see if the yellow band is broken or discolored. also make sure that your sensi rod is clean.

i know this will sound stupid but whats the yellow band?

the yellow band is the actual sensi sensor, it's located in the center of the little plastic square that is between your trigger frame and the body, the square has a green wire leading to your board

and turn down the halo's sensitivity
Actually you're going to want to turn the eye sensitivity up. Turning it down will make it press down harder on the balls if anything. It's also been a while since I first told people how to do it so I'll post it here again (Not sure how far gone that post may be by now :dunno: )
Actually, I just found it... got luckey I guess... Here's the procedure:
Anyways, there is one solution that helped me which I haven't seen in any of these Halo/A+/Speed chopping threads. I think what finally got my z-coded Halo b to feed so I could rip without worries, was adjusting the eye sensitivity in the Halo. To do this you will need to take the board out of your Halo, or at least have access to it. On the front of the board, in the top-center you will see a little plastic screw/POT (for those of you who remember the old angel LEDs). Turn this CLOCKWISE until it stops (about 1 rotation... Be careful! It's real easy to strip!). This should make the eyes as responsive as possible to the paint that goes through it. Besides that, the only other thing that causes me to chop is when I forget to calibrate my sensi... But I pick up on that mistake real quick in the first few seconds fo the game.
Hope this helps out!!!
Good Luck!!!!
P.S. - My Halo and Speed have been working together flawlessly since.

Thanks for the HALO adjusting tip. I've been debating about getting a HALO for a long time but always hated the force they seem to feed. With that pot I'll can fix that. GREAT!

icehawk i read here that it should be turned down, and i agreed, figuring that if the halo isnt putting more force on the ball stack every time the paint shifts a little bit, then its not as likely to chop, double feed, or break a sensi sensor.
that is to say that if the ball that the eye sees shifts a little then the halo will "think" that a shot was fired and it needs to load another ball into the stack (with higher sensitivity), however if the sensitivity is lowered the ball has to move more before the halo will react, therefore lessening the chance of chopped balls, broken sensi, and double loading.
this is how i see it, if im wrong or anyone wants to add anything or correct me, please do

i just got my z coded halo today, and everything worked perfect. no chops or anything. you think i need to ajust the sensitivity anyways or just leave it?
Luzrd

id leave it unless it becomes a problem, if it aint broke...

Luzrd... that is a valid point. You are correct. You need to turn the sensitivity up so the eyes will detect the smaller variations in the rates the balls feed. I've been like this all week for some reason. Sorry... . I guess that philosophy test tomorrow will have some interesting points on it....
