Hi everyone,
I have been out of paintball for about 5 years and have gotten the itch to get back in. I used to play tourney ball and had one of the original Dark Angels from Warped Sportz. Before I did extensive research I pretty much had my sight on getting another Angel just because I had such good luck and it just felt perfect, but then again, at the time there wasn't anything even close to it. I used to deal with Rocky from Warped all the time but I don't think he is there any longer. In fact, when I called and asked if they were doing any Dark A4's they said, "no" and didn't give any reason why. Secondly, I keep hearing about WDP loosing top quality teams. Not that it is a big issue when buying a gun, but you have to wonder why teams would switch and also why Warped, a major Angel dealer for a long time, decided to sever ties. In my eyes, there seems to be a little loss of credibility and my confidense in wanting an Angel has been decreased. Coupled with the fact that there are so many other guns that are close and cheaper. I don't at all care about the cost of the gun, I just want the best one out there. I shot my friends Intimidator and was extremely inpressed and the more I read, the more I am leaning towards buying one. However, I still remember my Angel and how it felt, it shot and just the mystique (which seems to have been lost).
I really like the style of the Force 4 gun and it seems to be the best Angel out there right now. I guess my question comes to, why should I buy an Angel, specifically the Force 4, over the Intimidator? If I get the Angel should I WAS/ACE it in which the Intimidator already offers? Also, what Air system is the best one out there and what do you recommend for size. I originally had a 68 cu Nitro Duck 4500 system. Also, what about barrels? What are the best barrels? Should I get the Freak system?
I apologize for asking some non-related Force 4 questions. I have been doing as much research and searching as possible.

Thanks,
Kevin

the reasons for WDP and Warped are not public. Warped did a Dark version of the Speed, but not the 4.

The Force is a custom version of the 4 that is made by the WDP Master Techs. The milling, colors and warranty can only be found on the Force.

If you even consider ACE or the rest of that crap on an Angel don't bother buying an Angel. WDP has made a great antichop system in Sensi and it works!!!

You will need a low pressure air system in order to use the 4, something that puts out about 400psi as recommended in the manual.

Barrels are personal choice, and you can read a bazillion threads in the barrels section, find the one you want and use it.

BTW we don't do comparison threads here at AOG, so don't ask anyone to compare the markers. You can ask specific questions about the Angel and WDP line of products, but no comparisons.

well as angel owners, we are all going to have some favoritism toward angels. i don't think you'll find anyone on here that will tell you NOT to buy an angel. but i have shot angels for 6 years and have not even considered any other gun to spend my money on. but as a paintball player in general, i must tell you that you should get the gun that suits you best. me personally, i feel the most comfortable with an angel, becuase thats what i know, and its what i trust. yes, there are other guns out there that have similar performance, so you have alot to choose from. just go with what is most comfortable to you. thats the only way that you are going to be the best player that you can be. as far as angels go, let me assure you that they are still superior to any other gun on the market, period.

It's a mixed bag to be quite honest. You can't go wrong with an A4 and you especially can't go wrong with a Speed. Many critics believe that WDP's inability to embrace the break beam anti-chop eye has them at a disadvantage to the Intimidator and now the Matrix (NYX, DYE LCD, DM4).

Quite frankly, I don't disagree with them.

The same critics also believe that WDP as a company have gotten away from their personalized attention to detail in managing their customers and staying fresh with market trends.

Quite frankly, I don't disagree with them.

However the A4 is an excellent marker, a quality product that when purchased from one of the MTs is backed not only by a sensational warranty but a helping hand. Despite the "WAS" hype, WDP continues to still provide their customers with the product that they demand. But I'll be the first to agree with the critics, that the days of their market independence from other electro-pneumatic rivals is over. So this allows you more choices, some for the better and some for the worse.

Picking up a Force4 is a great purchase, especially if you buy it to just as it was intended for use... play. It's gotten my support and despite temptations it still remains my primary "gat" to "mug muppets in da grille."

ok i don't have an a4 yet but i will soon. this is going to be my 3rd angel, but dispite the sucess i have had in the past with angels i too wondered if i should keep with them. yea the other guns are fast and all but that is mainly due to bounce if i'm not wrong. i don't know everything about markers but do know what i have heard. also if i'm not mistaken i have heard that there is a somewhat of a bounce setting on the 4s. the other gun that i thought about was the new empire timmy. great gun. what made my mind up is that in the past i have shot a lot of markers. (timmys included) and i have always had some problem. i want a high bps rate and all but if i chop any paint then it doesn't matter. i have chopped more with timmies than i have angels. that is basically the bottom line. i feel more comfortable with my gear when i have an angel. and we all know that when you have faith in your gear you will be a better player. also remember if you can't find a force you can get a regular 4 and set it up just like a force. just takes some time.
