ok this might be a stupid question but i don't want to mess this up.... my gauge on my hp tank is cracked. I have a dye replacement gauge.... my question is... the only thing i have to seal the threads is blue locktite or white tape. I've used these things countless times on hose fittings but I didn't know if it would be strong enough because it's coming right from the tank. You're talking 4500psi compaired to 800psi. Help me out guys!

Teflon tape should be just fine. I've used it on my tanks before when I replaced the gauge and never had any problems.

blue loctite would be fine if that's what you decided to use, just make sure it's dry before you attempt to refill the tank. The bottle says like 30 minutes should be good enough, I'd suggest a couple of hours if not even overnight.
however teflon tape does work just fine.

One thing I would mention be careful when you screw in those dye gauge or any micro gauge for that matter. If you screw it into the tank too far the lip of the carbon fiber tank will hit the back of the gauge and make it leak.

i always try to use loctite instead of teflon,
it's generally better for your tank/gun, only drawback is you have to wait for it to dry
