I am really intrested in sending my gun off to have this done. Their isn't any place that does it right now though right? I was wondering when WDP was going to start doing these upgrades on older ir3's. Hopefully they will do it for you at world cup this year, then maybe i could get somebody to take my gun down with them to have it done.
Thanks,

correct me if im wrong, the opti trigger uses a laser instead of a switch to tell the marker when to fire. when the laser beam is broken thats when it shoots.so there are no worn out switches.

Apearently in theory it can be shortened to 1/64" pull. Or half the thickness of a human hair.
They replaced the micro swithch with an optic beam that detects when the trigger comes back and breaks that beam like AdrenalinMan said. Also the board has some other things too it.

i dont see why anyone would want that short of a trigger pull. just my opinion though.

not me... I like the little click of a micro switch. I usually leave my pull at 1mm anyways so no need to go any shorter.
My MEM2 board has no problems (not even that live/safe lockup prob), so why screw with a good thing I say.

dude i wish mine came with the old boards...i like my friends board that has the click....i have tne new opto boards and it feels like nothings even happening but you can get the tirgger pull crazy short!!!! i can tap mine on the side and it will fire...haha dude bluec&cir3 nice sn haha...i didnt know of ur sn when i signed up sorry bro
I think the only ones who will benefit from the opti board is the people who like a mouse click trigger pull. Which Im not one of them, so if your like me, I like a little throw and bounce to my trigger pull. So I would say don't get the upgrade unless you want that super short trigger pull.
Peace,
Hep
a teammate and i both have bad mem 2 boards. tried calling 3 places about replacement and they will only swap out for another micro switched board. i have shot the opta and love it but cannot seem to find a tech who will do the swap. ne one w any info on who will swap these(willing to pay if necessary)i have tried ken, cobra and frasier. thanks

I Don't agree ...
I think I will be looking for the 15-30% increase in trigger speed.
