Do people call their gun or marker a "gat"? is this just another word for your gun or marker... where did this term come from.. gat... interesting... maybe someone can explain to me.

"Gat" is derived from R.J. Gatling, the inventor of the Gatling Gun... He's probably rolling in his grave over what his name has been reduced to.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...it's a slang term typically used by gangster and wanna be thugs to refer to a gun. Often used very poorly, and reflects even worse on the intelligence of the person attempting to use it.

LMAO!.. I like how people refer to a magazine as a 'clip' because its in a pistol. Mag is a Mag... clip is a slang term too....

Gat... is such a stupid term for a firearm... (talking real guns)

Clip is an actual term. used on the M-14 and some older guns. Instead of inserting a magazine from the bottom, you get a clip (holds 5 rounds if I remember right) and insert it from the top.
