Just want to throw in a few words...

Don't rip on someone too fast, it could be the shipping method used causing problems for the two of you.

I'd recommend using at least FedEx Ground or UPS rather than the USPS, if just for the tracking system because that could alleviate alot of headaches being able to track your shipment. Of course, the sender would have to provide you with the tracking info once the item has been shipped...

Also, i've seen a few people mention 'insurance' in a few posts. Just so you know, making a claim is not a simple "My package was destroyed, i insured it for $2k, so gimme my 2 grand!".

The courier you use will most likely (in UPS's case - they will) contact you to find out the actual value of the item you declared and insured. They might research it and conclude it's value to be something much less than you had originally chose to insure it for. For example; I wouldn't be surprised to find someone with a body that has been cosmetically damaged in transit only to find that the courier has chosen not to honor the initially declared value, but rather an estimate they have come up with to only replace the damaged portion of the merchandise.

I have seen shippers pull alot of tricks when I used to do this sort of thing for a living. I've even had UPS deny claims for valuable merchandise that was destroyed in transit - blaming their 'conveyor belts', or 'the striking Conrail employees' in order to get out of paying out. It all comes down to one thing you need to do - package everything properly! No dead air, shouldn't 'shake' around, shouldn't be crushed easily, etc.

I just wanted to take the time to write this because a lot of us put a good chunk of money and effort into our equipment and each day you haven't received your order, or if your faced with something being damaged in transit it's really going to suck and hopefully this helps a lil' bit.

(I know how it feels; i'm so impatient that I bought everything i've got in cash at a local shop and didn't mind paying a few hundred bucks extra because I wanted my stuff right-here-right-now!)

Palmer's Pursuit Shop has the BEST system for trading/buying/selling guns, both parties send their merchandice/money to palmers, when palmers has recieved cash/ merchandice from both people they then send the goods to the buyer/seller. this way you dont get ripped off.

so what happens when someone buys something, and then never sends the money? Especially when you feel that you can trust them, and both decide to send at the same time?

UPS Vs. FEDEX

I recently ran into a problem while selling my cocker, which company to send it by? It really depends on how you are selling your item, if you are sellinf it COD then you should consider FedEx because they will get your money next day. UPS takes weeks.

Just something to keep in mind while sending through Cashiers Check/COD/Money Order.

Actually if that ever happened to me like say for instance I just insured my angel for 1500.00 and i shipped it off lets say the body was damaged albeit cosmetic or otherwise it was packaged according to shipping guidlines set forth by ups and usps alike min. 2" of padding on all sides and I cannot buy and angel body and if it's damaged and they refuse to pay the cost I would see them in court , I did not pay 16.oo in insurance for my health and insurance is there to insure my package gets to its destination unharmed if this is a problem they ough not to offer ins. AND I WOULD SEE THEM IN COURT NO QUESTIONS ASKED! for there are no disclaimers designating what damage is covered.

With tracking numbers which most parcel carriers have automatically unless they are using USPS then thats a added cost but can be done. Basically if its sent USPS first class and priority there is no tracking/refference # unless with priority its paid for at a extra cost.
