Question 1: Does the speed have normal asa threads?
Question 2: What kind of reg should i buy (gen-x , gladiator, etc.)-I need a new one cause the mini reg wont take my 850 preset down enough

the speed doesn't come with an asa, you have to buy that seperate, and about the secondary reg. you might want to look into an lp preset, or change the configuration of your hp reg. into lp.

to ge the speed to accept a preset hp tank all you have to do is rearrange the spring stack... simple to do costs no money just do some looking around in this speed forum

This is not such a great idea. While adjusting the spring stack will bring your pressure down, it won't do it consistently. You'll go from 500 to 900 psi the whole day long. If you have a rebuidable reg most companies now offer lp kits.

if you can get below 300fps do you really need to go to a lp tank?

I have a Spped with a preset HP tank (800 PSI) Stock Reg. I have the largest volumizer on, out of the Angel 3-pack kit. And I have no preoblems getting my Vel. to 280. Even with out the volumizer I had no problems getting to 280. The only MOD that i have is adding the magnet to the trigger. I love this gun..

I have a 750 psi HP tank on my speed, and after lowering the velocity screw all the way, I was still shooting 300, then i set my dwell so that only 2 lights are blinking, i think thats like a 9 or 10 dwell or something, i got it down to like 250-275. Is there anything bad about running my dwell so low and my velocity so low?

There are a few problems with running the Speed on the HP air system:
1. Kick, you'll get plenty of it.
2. LPR pressure, you'll have to run it at stock (more than likely)
3. Efficiency, I found it to be much better with the LP bottle running at the recommended pressure range.
First things first is to run the dwell as low as possible without shootdown (10ms for example). The next would be to run the LPR as high as possible (82psi) without causing the marker to blow up paint.
The biggest problems will be getting the marker to stay under 280fps, especially a problem if you play indoors. Not to mention I don't know many fields that allow you to walk on shooting 290-300fps in most "walk-on" scenarios.
PE offers an LP spring stack option for about $30 and Crossfire can put an LP reg on any exisiting preset for $70. Other companies offer affordable presets (adjustable and/or LP). I strongly recommend switching to one to fully enjoy your purchase, I did and it was a wise decision.

k, the mini-reg threads are universal, but it would be much wiser to get a THOR or adjustable tank rather than replacing the minireg

One last thing on this thread...
The Mini is a great reg. Please people... don't buy a aftermarket reg without atleast seeing what the Mini can do for you...

it was shooting fairly consitant when i did the mod, up and down about 3-4, then i added the small volumizer in the 3 sum kit, it upped the velocity like 20 , but its like + or minus 6-14, the dwell is at 11, any suggestions?

He didnt say not to buy a Thor or sumthing ,which is a fist stage reg, he said not to buy a secondary reg like the sidewinder the replace the secondary reg already on your gun ( the Mini reg)

i had a conquest on back order when i got my speed so when it came in i did not need a reg after words, so i gutted a gen x since it was left over from another gun a long time since the gen x had a guage and i did not want a two piece gass through i gutted that gen x and ran the conquest straight in.
