I have question about mem-cops

Im looking at buying a angel and im trying to figure out a few things.What is a mem upgrade,what does it do,how does it effect the gun?What is a cops upgrade,what does it do,how does it effect the gun?Im a cocker owner and looking to move my team to angels and just trying to understand a few things.If someone could help I would be most grateful.

Basically there are different versions of mem and cops there is cops 1 and cops 2 then there is mem 1-6 The biggest difference is that later version of the IR3 came with an opto board that fired the gun by making or breaking a beam of light. the second difference is cops 1 or 2 cops 1 didn't work well at all and was virtually worthless however cops 2 if calibrated works fairly well. Angels do not use break beam anti chop eyes instead there is a sensor in the grip frame and a rod that sticks up a bit into the breach that senses vibration which if it detects a ball allows it to fire as normal if it does not detect a ball it slows down your rate of fire. I believe the breaking point for both of these was mem3 , this was the point at which they started offering the opto board and cops but I am not 100 percent sure. However the absolute newest version on the market for an IR3 is mem6e cops 2 . If you need further info do a search on mem versions or the like... it should be able to provide accurate info or wait for emmit to post iknow he is very well versed on the differences.

So is this a software upgrade or a board replacement.If Im looking for an IR3 to purchase is there two different guns or 1 gun with different software(board).Is it possible to install the IR4 board in the IR3 and would there be upside to do it.I dont want to sound stupid but I really want an angel and I dont know the one that I want.

Basically what I have gathered is that Mem is just the software on the board. Mem 1 to 3 is for a microswitch board (3 being the latest) and Mem 4 to 6 is for an opto board (6 being the latest), and then the letter after that is a further revision.
Cops is relevant to the version of mem you have. Only Mem 3 and Mem 6 boards have cops 2 I believe, but I have a mem 5 board and my cops 1 works fine.
I havent really seen any large differences between the versions of mem except the change from cops 1 to 2.
As for angel 4 boards in an ir3, aparently they use different voltages for the solenoid so it probably isnt possible.
I recently changed from a cocker to an ir3 after 8 years of cocker use, I find my rate of fire is outstanding compared to my cocker, although my accuracy at long distance isnt quite as good, but who needs to shoot distances when I'm a front player. apart from that my ir3 is my dream gun. I like it better than the angels 4's i have used, but thats just me.

I have a worrbladed cocker and it ripps.I want an angel and just trying to figure out which one to get.Im stuck between a speed or the IR3.

My reasoning for picking the ir3 over the speed was I could get one a bit cheaper and i wanted the LCD screen for the game timer and settings and stuff. The speed is a basic gun but it does rip, any speed owner would testify, but do you like messing around with your marker or do you like to pick it up and play and leave it alone? most cocker owners I know love to mess around with thier guns.

Well I just got my cocker to where it will ripp.Im the kind of guy who like to tinker a little but not much.I would like to have one that I could pick up and punish I have enough to tinker with owning this cocker.
