alright i am buyin a speed today, i have heard a few people say that if you run a speed with a halo that the halo will chop balls or break sensi since its force fed. i was told to buy a egg with z board to not run into that problem, my question is, if i put a halo on my speed will i have the chane of breakin my sensi, or chopping, and if i buy an egg, will the egg with the z board be able to keep up, i have heard it feeds 24 bps, but you never know

ok, halo's are a hit and miss. Sometimes it works great, other times it can piss the **** out of you. Eggy with Z-Board's won't give you any problems with the gun what so ever and they feed very fast just like the Halo and is softer on the sensi. I would go with a eggy to be safe

Just like synthetiq posted you have a 50/50 shot with the halo. If you have a halo or a friend has one that you can borrow, you might want to try it out. It could work for you and then again it might not. This would be an easy way to find out what to purchase, if you don't have that option, go with the egg to be on the safe side.

i agree with both synthetiq and thog, to be safe go with the egg
also try and borrow both a halo and an egg, see what you think.
if you dont mind tuning a little, then theres alot of info here on halo issues (which got mine running great with my speed!) just do a search, it will show you how to lower the halo's sensitivity

well i have a halo already, but the weight, and such is a problem, im playing up front and dont want to have to carry the 2 pounds from the halo, and end up with a problem from it, so egg it will be thanks

well the weight between a full halo and egg are negligible!

dude i know people have been saying that halo "might" not me the way to go but im saying that halo "IS NOT" the way to go. if you can do anything in your power to stay away from a halo dont even go neer one, first they smash your sensor that sucks, its a 30 doller fix every time. second you have to make the perfect ram adjustment to make the thing work. you need a low rise, you need an A4 soft face bolt and all this stuff to make a halo fun like the egg 2 with y or z board does without andy adjusting or tinkering, just go with the z or y board egg 2 its like the smartest thing ive ever done. serious man dont make my mastake learn from others. please save yourself the pain.

yes a FEW people have had problems with breaking their sensi, adjusting the ram is more important with a halo (but very easy) a low rise may help, an a4 bolt may help (according to Ken Crane it doesnt though) as we said if you dont want to tune your hopper just go with the egg, if you want the best hopper (IMO) try your halo with it, and see what YOU think.

my halo, and the 8+ people i know who use them on speeds and A4s never EVER have a problem with it, eggs are usless garbage

From what my friends have had, Eggs, each one (except for one kid, who dosnt play much) has broken in some way. either the feedneck breaking, random cracks in the side, or problems with the board/motor. now a halo is built strong, but its just so hard on feeding. alot of work may be required to get it working. consider both options carefully, or you may have headaches. now, listen to some qoutes on the subject...

eggs are known for being brittle, i always hear someone say that something broke on their egg.
i would try your halo before spending more cash on a lesser (IMO) hopper.
if the halo breaks paint like i said search the forums, turning down the eye sensitivity is easy! and worked great for me

eggs are brittle, i have seen lids snap like twigs, holes mysteriously appear on the shell, necks snap in two, hell i have seen propellers snap... and those that have working eggs always cut the bottom part of the necks off because that damn thing sits a good foot off your marker

Well I tried a my Halo B on my A4 with mixed results. The first time was at practice a couple weeks back and all it did was chop. (BTW this was after receiving it back from Odyssey with a Rip drive and Z-code installed plus a new shell kit.) Tried upping the dwell (indoor temp was appx 55 f) but that was about it plus that made it worse. Broke paint in the hopper even. Well cleaned up everything the next day and later that week put the Halo B back on my A4 and shot 2 hoppers out of it without a chop. Using the same Sensi mode even but everything was at room temp. So yeah it does seem hit and miss but Im gonna try a Evo2 with Z board and hopefully that will work out better. Oh yeah since getting it back from Odyssey Ive snappped two lids in 2 days of practice and the battery door was cracked from the factory after the re-build, WTF?! Maybe an isolated incident but Im not dealing with it anymore.

unfortunately Hep I'm hearing more and more that that is becoming the standard with Odyssey. Heck the guys on my team have started to go to all black shells because they fell they last longer.

I can't understand why people bash BE and yet they're still willing to shell out $35 every few months for new shells, or parts for their Halo's:dunno:

and how many upgrades do you have to have that you have to charge $35-50 for???

i have seen ONE halo break, on the neck, but that dumb ☼☼☼☼ had his feed necks set screws digging THROUGH the halo, practically every egg i see gets broken

I have had part of the shell on a Halo crumble before but I just sent it over to Odyssey and they sent me it me back free of charge with brand new shells and new z-code software free of charge as it was under 12 months since I'd bought it.

I've had the lid on an Evo II broken and it took AGES to get a replacement with all sorts of grumblings. Having said that, you can now get the lids for about £2 each so it's not a real problem any more.

Halo's aren't without their issues but I've always found Odyssey service to be excellent.

I have a Halo that was upgraded with the new belt drive and z-code. It shoots just as nicely as my Revolution. I guess I am one of the luckier ones that have not had an issue with double feeding my 2000 LCD using a Halo. I would recommend the Halo from my experience alone.

Keep in mind that there are some front players in the Pros who use only Revys.

Halos are POS. I have both and trust me they are a pain in the ass. I have never not once had the halo singing with my angel. It is always chopping and blending. I was so excited to get one but the first thing I had to do was take it apart because my gun was chopping so much that I thought it was broken somehow. And then I started feeling special on the field of mostly angels because everyone on the field started using Eggs and I thought it was because I was the only one that could afford it but I found out they were all disgruntled ex-halo users that switched to the Egg. This was all before the z-board and now that it is out I see more Eggs on the field than ever. I got to admit they arent as solid as the Halo but I dont really need my loader to be solid as long as 1. they feed balls 2. they dont chop. I would gladly pay for a new shell and whatever just to get a loader to work. I have now only Egg because I just gave away my POS Halo (Gave it away for free man) and now I am getting a second EggII with Z-board just so I know I have an extra egg for some reason.

One more thing, it did break my sensi. Also for a while I was called Mr. Squeegy because I would shoot about 20 rounds and go running for a battleswab. This is the Halo motto. Shoot, Chop, Swab, repeat.
