Is this always the case? Because i've just bought a ir3 that does the same thing only i havent charged it yet and the former owner had not used the gun for a long time. Is the battery bad or is it just uncharged?

Im not sure , but when i charge it and when it say full just unplug the charger and plug it in again it will start charging again. I tried doing this 4 time now and the battery indicator say full battery. Now it works fine, but im not sure for how loong. I will post here again if it goes black again.

Same thing happened to me, just haven't gotten around to replacing it yet. I went on deployment, came back, and the battery acted dead. Gave it a charge, and it was good to go. I can still play with it, the battery just drops all charge after a week or so. Comes from letting the battery sit, and not cycling it. NiMH do not have the memory effect of NiCAD, but they still like to be fully cycled once in a while.
You can still use it, just charge before you play, if you don't feel like paying for a new battery.

Carging it right now. I'll test it out for a week if the battery goes flat really fast i'll contact the previous owner as he stated that everything was ok. Everyting else seems to be in good condition.
