Does anyone think that paintball will ever come to grouped into different parts of North America. For example, the East Coast. Do you think they will make a ECPL (East Coast Paintball League). Same follows for other parts of North America.

Up here in Mass we have the NEPL

New England Paintball League.

We also have like 3 other tournament series, we're pretty lucky.

Are you reffering to the NPPL 7man? Yes this will change paintball on a National level, but I really don't think it's going to change your local scene too much. Texas was already planning to have a 7man series next season. As well as the 2 major 5 man series, and one 10man series we have.

As for Leagues forming like the Little League.....well that's another story. Just about each Regional area already has some sort of series that spans the length of the year, and moves to different fields. Obviously the bigger the state, the longer the weather stays good, and the more popular paintball is in your area will dictate how many can strive. Here in Texas we've got 2 different 5 man series with 2 major Sponsors (one is PMI the other is National), we have a 10man series (National), next year we will have 2 7man series (PMI and Animal) and a MAJOR 3man series (National). Plus I think PMI is putting on a huge 10man at the beginning of the year.

I had started a discussion on a local board once about doing a "League" where things were set up like Little Leagu Baseball. Players registered, came out on a special day and had tryouts. Then were divided up into teams based on scores at the tryouts. Each team would then ideally start from the same talent level. Each team is given a coach, and a schedule. Once a month you have League games. Not a tournament, but actual games. Say 3 or 4 teams are scheduled to show up at a field, these teams play each other and get points (ie 2 points for a win, 1 for a tie like in Hockey). These seed points are used for a Championship. The nice thing about it is that if your team is having an off day you don't suffer in the series so much. Then you have like a Championship day at the end of the season where you bring the different teams together that qualify, and you have a full blown tournament. This saves money for each team in the long run because instead of paying an entry fee for a tournament, plus the air, plus the paint for 8 games. You go to the local field, which is receiving a kickback from the league, buy the paint you need for 2 or 3 games, and then you play your games, and then when you're done you're already at a local field, why not play some rec-ball? There was a lot of long discussions about this, but it never garnered the attention from the people it needed to in order to come to light. It is a great sounding idea on paper, but it will probably never happen.
