Ok, heres the deal, i charge my gun fully before i go play today, then put on my halo b with z software and play and then i notice that when i shoot it drops off some, i heard the halo slows the bolt down due to force causing the shootdown, also, I am chopping a **** load. I swear i put in a whole pod and i chop the whole pod, help me out please, i have had this gun since it first came out and i have been expierencing problems and want it to stop. Also, do you think an a4 bolt will stop the shootdown?. i dont think it is becaus eof my lpr, because when i dry fire i hear no lowing sound. Thnaks

Try shooting it with a revy or egg. That's probably the problem.

yeah i mean if u r gonna use a halo witha speed, u might wanna look into iron cross ball detents a4 soft bolt, and a low rise (a plus low rise or check it low rise). this will most likely solve the problem idk. but I might lookinto getting an egg and sellin that halo. its usually a hit or miss with halos and speeds.

Is it breaking in the breach or in the barrel?

its breech break, and no its not been done before because i searched everymeaning :rrrright: and so i do have a ccm low rise and i dont want to get a new opper, do you think the myth of the halo slowing the bolt down is true? will the a4 bolt fix it or is the lpr

definately search theres ALOT of info available
my first move when i put a halo on my speed was to tighten up the ram, till it almost wouldnt open, now i dont know if its bad for the marker so im not suggesting that you do it like i did. but it helped!
then i got an a4 bolt. i think it helped to.
low rise feednecks are suposed to help also. and one is next on my list.
i just yesterday lowered the eye sensitivity in my halo, but have yet to test it.
im not sure about the halo slowing the bolt, but if it does it is minimal.
i talked to Ken Crane last week about chopping and he told me it was my settings, and was VERY helpful. now i just gotta go test them out

When I put my Halo on I adjusted my ram as far forward as possible. I used an A+ low rise. I put in an A-4 bolt. I tried different paints. I put on Iron Cross ball detents. I threw on a volumizer. I played with all sorts of different dwell, LPR and mini-reg settings. I used a Freak. I used the stock barrel. I used sensi (tried all 4 modes) and didn't use sensi.
Despite all of this, I could not and still cannot get my speed to stop chopping with my new Halo B. It pisses me off, but I've gone back to using my Evo II. I played with it yesterday and shot an entire case of PMI premium paint (using Sensi 3) w/o a single break or chop the entire day.
I hate to break it to you (no pun intended), but you may have to get a new hopper.

I have the EVO with Z board. After all the hoopla dies away about HALO vrs Egg vrs Reevy, it comes down to what will work. Some people get them to work great and others do everything but to avail. See if your local field will let you "experiement" with the option to buy.
I agree with pgaglio, maybe a HALO just isn't in the cards.

I use an Egg on my speed, and I had no Problems with Chops, So try getting one of those (Dont get a Revvi) Halo's are nice but most of the time they cause a lot of problems, and when and if you do get your egg dont think its the nicest thing also, Most of the time the physical parts on the egg crack or just break, So be careful (eggs have no problems other than that though) after you get the egg go for the A4 Bolt and you should be set (You prolly need a better barrel too)

Amen to that. Unfortunately the Egg shells are made of brittle plastic that seems to crack at the first chance.
If someone made a hopper that was durable but could feed fast and wouldn't chop......that person could make $$$$$$ millions. There are serious problems with both the Egg and the Halo.

:dito: Unfortunately we dont live in a perfect world. You might want to try the A4 bolt, I use a Halo/Speed and I havent had a problem. But I wouldnt go out and immediately go out and drop another $70 on another hopper. Try the A4 and make sure your ram is adjusted properly. That is usually the case..if not I dont kno what to tell ya. Good luck!

I have broken 2 shells and 3 lids, ohh and a battery door! go figure, the egg is a piece of garbage, but no breaks with it.

okay...to dispell this myth that you're starting let's look at something...
what relationship does the hopper have with the bolt???
Absolutely none!!!! That means that your hopper cannot affect how your bolt moves in the marker. Whoever told you that probably thought you wouldn't check to see that gullible has been removed from the dictionary either.
As for the comment about the Warped Sportz Iron Cross detents that was made.:wall: It is just different caps. There is nothing different between the 2. That means the springs are the same, the ball stoppers are the same. The damned things don't do anything that the stock detent caps don't already do except look different and they can be tightened by hand!!!:wall:
Now as for chopping and using the Halo...yes it's been discussed a million times...however let's do the obvious...make sure your Ram is adjusted properly, make sure your LPR is set properly, make sure your detent caps are tight and not loose, and make sure that your Halo isn't crushing the paint before it gets to the breech. Also check on your hopper height. Some people have experienced problems with the Halo not sitting at the right height and thus causing a little too much pressure to be put on the stack and the second ball being forced too far into the breech.
