Hey hey, im joining the family. Trading my impy :( for an angel :)

Ok, got some Q's:

1.) Is there a "counter" limit on LEDS like there are on LCD's i heard? Like alot of shots you need a new board

2.) Are these easy to mantain? Like is it easy to clean, etc.

3.) How do you like you angel led :) preferable if you got a dark angel.

Thanks, heres a pic:

Crog...I own one of the original Dark LED's. This thing is a workhorse. It will perform beautifully for you as long as you need it to.

To answer your questions

1) there is no shot counter on the LED boards, so there is no way to tell how many times that marker has been cycled. Like I've been saying tho, as long as the internals look to be in good condition then you should be okay. There wasn't really a lot of problems with LED boards like there was with LCD boards (and most of those were user error)

2) cleaning is a snap....simply wipe the old paint off, and oil it about every 5-6 cases and you're set to go. it's that simple. The internals are a little more involved, and unless you really know what you're doing should be best left to a tech.

3) I loved my LED for a long long time. I used my LED from early 99 when I finally got until just this Spring when I got my first LCD. It continued to be used as a loaner gun for a while, and I had it tuned before Cup. Due to someone elses gun not being able to be fixed at Cup he had to use this one, and it performed flawlessly for him at Cup.

So yes you will more than likely be extremely happy with your LED. Welcome to the family, and if you've got any questions feel free to ask them here. We're always willing to help.

Thanks man, you sound like a cool person :)

Yeah, since I only play at local tournys, I think the LED is perfect. So you got one? Mind if I see a pic of your set up so I can get some ideas

I'm glad to hear you liek yours, untill you got ur lcd   lol, but I was spectical (spelling?) about trading my 2k2 impy for a 99 angel, but i heard so many nice things when I was checking out these forums about people and there LED's, i decided to go for it :)

So I take it these are good guns than (the 99's, i know the new ones own :) )

Crog.......there is a pic in the pic thread, but here's the link

Yeah I really loved my LED....but I'm really loving the IR3 now!

My LED is really still stock. I got lucky in the WS MS store once, and found a read high rise instead of the adapter and it happened to match perfectly. Other than barrels I've never done anything else to the gun. It looks sweet because it was the first time Warped ran the Pewter color. It's a series 3.

Thats cool , I i want an IR3 badly, but wont get one soon unless I win an impy at a local tourny and trade my led and the impy for one, or sell both for money :)

So you think I will enjoy it? Everyone seems to be talking abut the new angels, and im thinking the LED will stink :(

Don't worry about whether or not you have the newest, the brightest, the shiniest or whatever your Angel will make you very very happy. As I've said before LED's are workhorses, you will definitly enjoy it. Download the manual from here on the site, you can print it out or just read it here it will help a lot, and like Cobra said don't hesitate to ask if you've got a question, but please use the search feature also, someone else may have already asked your question and gotten an answer to it.

Angel LED's are by far my favorite angel. Mine is a 99 and I it is the greatest gun I have ever used. I play lots of local tourneys as well as travel out of state to play and my LED is always up for the challenge. Cleaning is a breeze ecpescially if you dont get shot..LOL yeah like everyone else said leave the major electronics and the internals to a tech. Get yourself a good reg and a nice tank and good barrel system and you will be all set. Hope you enjoy your angel. I was in the same boat you were I sold my Impy to get the LED and i will never go back to any other gun. Welcome to the family and good luck.

Hey Crog, glad to see I am not the only one making the switch from a 2K2 Impy to an LED. I am in the process of trading mine now. I have a 2K C&C and a 2K1 Dark and love'm both! The C&C was just rebuilt with new board after the vibe alarm dumped on me. There not hard to work on as I do all my own work (except boards....sizzle! ) I am trading for the 99 Dark in the Doo Doo brown color. Can't wait! Be glad to help you with yours if I can.

Good Luck!!!!!!!

I have a 99 Dark Angel and she has worked wonderfully for me, however the time has come that the board needs to be replaced... What boards fit into these markers nowadays?
