WDP bulletin.
Dear Angel Users,
This Post has come to our attention for several reasons. There have been a number of issues raised that still have to be addressed. Frazer, Jon Rice and WDP’s Master Techs have analyzed your posts and had the markers with ‘Pauses’ sent to them for examination. In the following explanation we will use peoples names from the above posts, simply because it allows you, the Angel Massive, to follow more easily. I hope that the people mentioned in this post are not offended by this, as this is not our intention, we just wish to deal with specific cases. WDP loves you always, thank-you for your support
1. Ben Frain.
Ben had the issue below:
“Using an Angel 4 in modes 1 + 3 (or indeed a Speed) there is often a pause of 1-2 seconds when pulling the trigger quickly which results in no paint leaving the barrel.”
By Bens own admission, this issue was caused by a poor trigger set-up. After receiving advice on how to address this, the matter was corrected, see below.
“Well, I adjusted the trigger as suggested by Frazer and haven't experienced the pause since.”
Ben has since sold the gun, but has ordered a new Dust Fade A4 to replace it.
2. Childe (Sorry for the Spelling)
Childe had an issue that was baffling him. Only part of his post is included here, but Childe is saying that he has carried out Frazers instructions and it is not helping, he is getting a pause and sensi is passing every time.
I had this issue again today, both with a HALO B (which worked just fine without Sensi on) and an Evo2.
Each time i cycled the power, I held the gun perfectly straight and shot 10 slow shots to calibrate Sensi, but when i'd start shooting in a game, the gun would occasionally pause between strings. Im using Sensi mode 3.
At first, i thought my trigger might not be returning properly, but the gun shoots great with Sensi off, so that cant be the problem. What’s more, i did the drop test and it passes every time, so there’s nothing wrong with the sensor itself. I’m baffled, this is a weird issue.
Childe sent his A4 to Ken Crane of Cape Cod Paintball. WDP’s Frazer and Ken have worked together to diagnose the problem with this gun. The following has been discovered:
The toe adjustment screw was over-adjusted, without checking the position of the backstop, causing damage to the activation spring. The activation spring had been bent further by the user, which had also contributed to the problem. In plain speak, it was a poorly set-up trigger, not allowing any back-travel, and therefore missing shots occasionally while firing.
3. Gooler.
My Speed works flawlessly with the SENSI OFF.
It Rips Rips and Rips some more.
With the SENSI ON it skips like crazy.
I have changed the sensi pad to no avail.
The actuation is set at the bottom of the trigger pull. I can get up in the red a lot.
I use a Halo B.
I charge my Speed before every use.
My ram is adjusted which has eliminated the occasional chopping I had with the sensi off.
I sent it to Ken Crane for him to look at and when I get it back I will let you all know if he was able to fix it and what he did.
Good Luck Ken!
Ken has received the gun and found the following was causing the problem
The Sensi sensor was broken underneath (can be difficult to spot). Also there was an aftermarket trigger installed that allowed virtually no forward adjustment. The trigger pin had to be moved to middle hole to help fix the problem, this gun is now working perfectly.
Forsaken has also sent his gun to Ken Crane. It has not arrived yet. When it arrives Ken will take a look at it and contact WDP. We are confident that we will be able to take care of this Angel also. If any of the people mentioned above are anything less than completely satified with their Speed or A4 when they receive it back please contact us immediately. Also, If there is anyone else on this forum who would like to get their gun checked out, either by Ken or by Frazer please get in touch and let us know. We are of course always happy to spend time with any Angel users.
Aside from these specific issues we have seen others. Every one of them has been the result of one of 4 causes.
A poorly adjusted trigger.
A bent trigger activation spring caused by a poorly adjusted trigger Toe screw
A poorly fitted aftermarket part.
A broken Sensi sensor
There is an additional reason for ‘pauses’ or rather occasions where the user pulls the trigger and no shot happens. This is due to the Gun firing faster than the loader can feed. The Speed and A4 are capable of 31 full mechanical cycles and therefore have more windows of opportunity to fire. No other marker can offer 31 windows of opportunity within 1 second. The fastest loader out there right now will feed 22bps. Most people with a Speed or A4 can successfully reach 24/25bps, some can shoot faster than this. There will be occasions that the gun will outstrip the loader and this is where the Sensi System kicks in, and the dead shot is simply Sensi telling the board that a ball is not ready to fire. We believe that this, in addition to the fixes above, cover every eventuality of an Angel ‘Pausing’. We have shot 10’s of thousands of rounds to test this on your behalf, and any gun that has been sent to us has been set up correctly, after which we have not been able to replicate any kind of pause whatsoever. The only way to remove all possibility of pausing is to slow down the rate of fire to a rate slower than the loaders can feed. I am sure that nobody wants their gun to fire slower, especially as the loader manufacturers are currently working on 30bps loaders and Angel users will be the only players out there that are able to maximize the potential of this when they are released.
Additional Information.
It has been said that you must fire the Speed and Angel slowly during calibration. This is not the case. The Calibration process lasts for 5-7 shots during which the rate of fire is electronically capped at 13bps to avoid chopping. All you have to do is shoot the gun for 5-7 shots with paint, once calibrated the cap is automatically removed and the gun will top out at 31bps in Sensi mode. Note, dry firing the gun for more than 5-7 shots prior to calibration will cause the Angel to cap your rate of fire until you switch it of, and then back on again. You then need to repeat the process of calibration with paint.
Peace and Love to Angels Everywhere.
