Does the feedneck screw off?

It does. BUT, beware! Some people will tell you that it comes off easy. Some will tell you that you will get your butt kicked!! Get some strap wrenches. Take the gated feed off. Use the strap wrenches and twist the feed off. It will take some force. If that does not work, make the decision about why you want it off. In my case I was putting an A+ low rise. I tried and tried. I finially decided to "write" the stock feed off and used vise grips. Hope it helps.

Anyone know if heating the feed neck threads will remove the feedneck any easier? I've tried with my bare hands, but couldn't remove the feed neck, and I don't want to try pressure pliers.

well, heat should do it cause wdp supposably loctites the feed necks on and a hair dryer should help getting it off.

After a few trys I used my vice grips with a rubber cloth so I wouldnt damage the finish, came off fine. Thanks for all the input!

Slightly heating the feedneck and using a strap wrench worked for me.
It seemed that a strap wrench would only grip the top half of the gated feed enough to remove the top half. But on the bottom portion would not allow enough grip to remove the feed from the base.
i was wondering if not having the gated feed makes your gun chop alot because mine broke. I needed one for the next tournment that was the following weekend so i got a cheap Kapp one that was not gated feed obvislly. Im using a egg for a hopper so i dont think that is the problem. If anybody knows if that is the problem. Help me out!! Ohh and the Sensi is turned on.

best bet. leave it alone. i have my neck crossthreaded now and it wont move... ever. so it kinda works itself out but its still tchniquely broken.

Should be no problem at all. Gated feeds just keep your ball stack in place.

yea mine cross threaded then stripped so it would just slide off and on, I didnt go with the gated feed for a new one, i just got a dye feedneck, seems to work pretty good. and yes it was very hard to get off, had to use a rubber strap. but ive had no problems with it chopping so far.
oh ok cool.
just wondering

I like Stranglers, they always hold the hopper the best with the set screws and all.

ive seen commercials for craftsman strap wrenches. so yes sears should have them.
i stripped my original gated feed neck the other day, and couldn't get it off!
i took it with me when i got my new feedneck (to see if anyone knew a trick to getting it off) the guy put it in a padded vise, and had to tighten it so much that it scratched the hell out of it.
afterwards he showed me that there was GREEN loctite caked around the whole threaded area.
im not sure if this was done by the previous owner, or when it was made, but green loctite is a pain in the ass!!

Gated feed is unneaded especially with a force feed loader. I still use a revvy and took the gates out because they slow the down the feed rate a little without a force feed. the only time I could see the gates being a useful feature is if your hopper falls off on a bunker run or something so that you still have a few balls in there to mug the sucker with.
