i already saw that, but that doesnt answer my question, would it be ok or safe for the gun to run it on a screw in tank like my 88 3000

yes it does answer your question...the tank needs to be low pressure OR adjustable. If yours is then it's OK.

no wonder Emmit gets so frusturated

high pressure works fine for my speed. I get about +/- 6 at the chrono with a brand new reg (about a case and a half through it)

LP crossfire is an excellent choice for the price.

OKKK! wow, now i ha`ve heard that the a-4 already has a low pressure reg on it, so i dont need a low pressure tank! So what is up with this!!

Well I had a 68 45 java tank on my 4 and I cant use it on my gun. It wont chrono under 320 even with it screwed in all the way because im tryin to push 800psi into a gun that runs off of 175....so im currently in the process of tryin to get a new tank. Hopefully this will help u out a bit....

Thats incorrect. You want LP output (~500 psi) into the minireg. You will have trouble with high velocity otherwise.
