I heard somewhere(don't remember where) that you are not supposed to use teflon tape on the AIR systems connections. Is this true and if so what do people recommend. Thanks.

i have found that if you use the hoses and fittings with the red shtuff already on them that you do not need to use any other type of sealant. i believe all the aci hoses and fittings and such are the ones that come w the mystery sealer that works great.

Blue loctite (or equivalent) is the best in my experience. It seals well and is easy to take of when you want to change things around. You can buy it in most car parts stores.
As long as you don't wrap the teflon tape all the way to the tip of the fitting you'll probably be ok. Even a small sliver can mess up your reg or solenoid though. You might want to take your reg apart and rebuild it if it's not working right.

Blue is the best for things you want tight, but have to readjust at some point. Like the snap ring. Red is for a firmer hold like say the rise. Green, well you'll never get that to move again.

how would a sliver of teflon tape get into the AIR?

You would only use teflon tape on the OUTPUT connector, right? So how would any teflon tape get into the reg? There's none on the fill nipple...

Possiably before your tank... as in the connections on the filling tanks, boosters, and head valves. I'm not too sure whats your setup is though.

If it is that case... I hope your filter is still there.

consensus: better off NOT to use teflon. use thread sealant.

if you have to use teflon, use a SMALL amount, and do not wrap all the way to the tip.
