'twisted volumizer' - need help removing this thing...

I need to do maintenance on my gun and hadn't realized at the time of purchase (because they looked too damn cool to pass up) that these twisted volumizers will be a pain in the arse to remove to get to the lpr.

Any ideas how I can go about this w/o scratching? I was thinking a rag & channel locks... but am scared i might crush the alum. :P

some1 got a technique to share w/ me?

what u might want to try is somthing called a strap wrench....its basically a rubber strap that u can tighten down and it wont hurt the anno at all? why is it so hard to come off anyway...are the threads stripped?

I have them also, I use a rag too get them off.

it's probably because of the design there isn't much to grab a hold of...and especially if you put 2 of them on there...
