yeah, problem is, at large tourneys, the fill station is usually operated by a fill dude.
Plus they usually have 2, 3 or 4 hoses hooked up so multiple fills can be done at one.
Even asking the fill dude to "slow it down" doesn't always work because
1) they're ignorant
2) they don't really care
3) the other 3 guys filling are in a hurry
4) the other 3 guys don't have tanks that are especially susceptible, so it seems like you're the only guy bitching.

Why doesn't WDP find a way to fix this?

Cobra Paintball has a fix...

so you hook that thing on when you fill then take it off ?

Can you build those urself?? all it looks like is some quick disconnect stuff with a filter or something to slow donw air flow in the middle.
there was an old thread on building a filter/restrictor by russ.

The guy at the local place i fill my air at does this and it pisses me off; i hate arriving at home with the needle 500psi less than i left the shop with.
I just think if he screws anything up though, he pays so im not too worried.

well that is probably just the air cooling down in your tank. Mine does the same thing as does everyones. The place i get my tank filled informed me about flash fills, so they know what they are doing.

Thats a natural consequence of filling any high pressure cylinder.
Filling the cylinder causes it to expand ever so slightly.
Expansion causes The cylinder to warm. If you have a tank cover, take it off, and feel your tank next time you do a big fill (i.e. from 1k to 3k or 4k) so there is a large pressure differential.
The ideal gas law PV=nRT describes this effect. Anyways, as the tank cools, something has to give. And that something is pressure.
It is reasonable to lose about 500psi when filling a large pressure gap. i.e. dropping from 4500psi to say 4200psi is pretty common.
If you're really concerned about that last 3-500 psi, then do the initial fill slowly, wait for the tank to cool, and then top it up.
By the way, although flash filling will exaggerate this effect since your tank must deal with a rapid expansion, this minor pressure loss is "normal" is NOT what we're talking about regarding "flash fills and Angel AIRs".
Flash filling any cylinder puts a lot of stress on the parts, however in the case of the Angel AIR, one particular o-ring is quite susceptible to damage.
When that oring gets damaged, the regulator is no longer able to regulate properly and the reg's output starts to climb and climb. Next, either your macroline bursts, or the AIR's emergency pressure bleed activates and air starts venting out the side (the cutoff is 1250psi). I have had both happen.
is my out put preasure supposed to go up and down cuz mine dose
