View Full Version : Bought my Angel Force 4 today at Cup

At 10AM this morning, I purchased a gunmetal colored angel force 4 marker. This is my first angel. I went to the world cup today to look for a black gloss a4. At the WDP booth, the three remaining a4's were 1. gloss red and 2 gloss blacks. The guy behind the counter told me they would cost $1395. When I asked if they had any of the angel force 4s, he referred me to the next desk over. There, no angels were in site, but the guy behind the angel force desk kindly pulled out a gunmetal one. when i asked if they had any for sale, he said they were about to put the twelve they'd brought out to be sold. So i immediately paid him the asking price of $1450 for the gunmetal one. For $55 more than what WDP was asking, I got custom milling and a LIFETIME warranty, vs. the 6mo. of the standard angel.

This is my first angel, and the "charging" of the onboard battery is totally sucky when you want to play with your overpriced toy.

I'm currently scared, because I plugged the af4 into my truck's 12v hole at 4pm, and at 7:30pm I tried to use the thing, but no luck. The battery charging light is cycling, but none of the three battery slots on the lcd have filled, and when I tried to switch it to "live" it actually printed out on screen "L'VE" and nothing happens when I pull the trigger in either sensi on or off.

Hopefully someone will read this and encourage me to simply wait it out with the marker plugged into the car and it'll eventually charge correctly.

TOK3N-
I got your Z-Board for you from the source, so you need to PM me if you want to buy it. If yes, I'll PM back my address and you can mail me a $45 moneyorder with your address to mail it to.

If anyone cares to respond to this thread with an interest at what I saw at world cup regarding products and Xball play, I'll write again. Pictures will follow a successful charging up of the marker.

The Angel Force guys were VERY nice to work with, even for me who's never owned or touched an angel before today.

The trigger was set too tight. Loosening things up and I'm money. The LCD display is missing a couple of bars, but otherwise the marker fires beautifully.

regarding returning it to the booth, i live 2 hours away, and i'm not gonna be returning today. when the new back plate is produced, then they can fix my LCD display. I'm off to run paint through it now!

Just fired paint. let me tell you from a past shocker users standpoint, even without any volumizers hooked up, it's got almost no kick. maybe it's the frame shape, maybe i'm just excited, but all in all it was SMOOTH. The trigger is easy to flutter on. the feed neck works perfectly. Until my neighbor shouted "you are the rudest neighbor in the whole world!" I was getting +/- 3 bps at any pressure i set it to. Very nice. The best is the air efficiency. Coming from a tricked impulse and '02 shocker, it's a miracle to fire 500 rounds on 1000psi down on the tank. That used to be 2000psi with my smartparts markers.

oh and ufdc pretty much all rechargeable batteries require a full and complete charge before the initial use, not just the angel batteries

and that's one BADASS deal you got there

WHOA WHOA WHOA
I did NOT want to sound dissastified. I'm 100% satisfied. After adjusting the trigger, the marker is a total dream, and I'm sad I didn't leave smartparts markers behind earlier. It fires perfectly. It's consistent +/- 3fps right off the bat, and with some fiddling i'm sure i can get even better. I can't run by the booth (new born baby at home prevents random 1.5 hour drives out and back to orlando), so i'll wait until the new back plates are released, then mail the marker to have the lcd display replaced. It's perfectly functional, just doesn't light up the location of the "i" in "live" which is also part of the "G" in "ANGEL". Just some odd looking text, but the menus and everything works.

Again, the marker works fabulously, and I'll be hella slammin' people on the field this coming weekend. Using a space frame/ vertical grip has completely made me wonder how i ever used a .45 frame. Even my wife was effusive regarding the incredible looks of the marker. The gunmetal is sweet. I'm wondering about getting my barrel tip annoed to be a better match, you might notice the freak back is a gunmetal shaded stainless steel which is reasonably close.

Steve - what new backs are you talking about?

Emmit

I think it's the Force backplate. I think that they are slightly delayed on the release

The matching barrel it comes with is very nice looking 14" of lightweight aluminum. i play front and prefer to be tight

Man, I'm torn between the dust gunmetal and the polished royal blue! I'm kind of afraid the polished will scratch easier but I think I'm being overly concerned.

ufcd98
10-28-2003, 07:36 AM
gunmetal is better. everyone has a polished blue

tok3n
10-28-2003, 06:11 PM
Isn't this Force 4 blue different tho?

Emmit
10-28-2003, 06:26 PM
different than the standard Denim Blue available on the 4? Yes it is different. Different than Blue's done previously? I don't think so, I think it's the same bright blue that has been done in the past.

Royal Blue was the polished blue color on the C&C iR3s.

Whole, with stock barrel. Notice how tiny the marker looks atop a maxflo 68ci 4500psi system. The color is pretty close here under incandescent lighting. If you look at my earlier pics, it looks more gunmetal blue than these slightly bronzy looks. Earlier were under flourescents.

When you are married, you too will no longer have control over the colors of the walls where you live.

All my married friends tell me a way different story after marriage. The only thing steady with them is "pounding their fist in frustration" cuz their wives cut them off after the ring. But if your steady gettin' it you must be one of the lucky ones. :sshh:
