Guiseppe Bugge, 23, of Warwick, attempted to sell the guns, valued at $3,700,
on eBay, say the police.

WARREN - A former FedEx Ground worker has been charged with two felonies after
allegedly stealing three paintball guns being shipped through the company's
sorting center off Market Street and trying to sell them on eBay, the online
auction Web site.

Giuseppe Bugge, 23, of 161 Commonwealth Rd., Warwick, turned himself in to
Warren police last Thursday. He faces one count each of embezzlement and
receiving stolen goods for the theft of the guns valued at $3,759.50.

He's set to appear in District Court on Friday.

Bugge's arrest was the result of a two-month investigation coordinated by
Warren Sgt. Roy Borges.

Bugge allegedly stole the paintball guns from a shipment bound for California
from the Warren office of Planet Eclipse, a British company that sells
paintball equipment.

When the guns didn't arrive in California the security department at FedEx
Ground, a subsidiary of Federal Express, carried out an internal investigation
and reported the theft to the police on Aug. 21.

They also reported that the stolen guns matched the description of three guns
that were up for sale on eBay.

The guns being pretty unique there was no question these were the same guns on
eBay, said Lt. Joseph Loiselle.

The police connected Bugge to the theft through an email address listed with
the sale, said Loiselle. Police said they believe Bugge didn't act alone, and
the investigation of the scheme is continuing.

Bugge was dismissed from his job at the FedEx Ground facility at 15 New
Industrial Rd., according to Loiselle.

the sad part is that this guy isn't the first one that's guilty of this kind of theft. I've heard all sorts of stories of UPS guys, people getting paintball stuff in the regular mail, and it was accidentally delivered to the wrong address....it's really bad

I stopped using UPS at the company I used to work for because they were so bad with theft and destroying packages. Got an account with FedEx ground (formerly RPS) and there's no comparison how much better the service is. Costs a little more, but it's worth it.

Any time I do a transaction, UPS is last resort.

Man I payed for overnight shipping on my freak barrel i got it 3 days later and I emailed them asking them to kindly refund my money and they gave me a bunch of hype about how I need to do this and that. I just gave up realizing I would never get my money back. I like ups when i order something from them I alwasy get it on the day its supposed to come if not be4 the day its supposed to arrive. I love ups and have had no probs with their service.

CobraLED - you must live somewhere where the people at UPS actually give a damn. I was tempted to have my brother videotape the place when he was employed there, just to give a good argument to the 'higher powers' how terrible the employees treat packages there.

It's a bitch having franchise owners screaming about the condition their monthly personalized brochures were shipped in, knowing you have to take the heat because of UPS's inability to handle the problem themselves. Or better yet, blame the damage on Conrail for the coast-to-coast shipments.

We always have probs with UPS... sending out Computer equipment to newly acquired sites... The equipment ends up getting stolen out of the truck... Sometimes with remote sales users... UPS leaves their computers in front of the house or car ports even when a signature is required... those end up stolen as well.

Never had a problem with FedEx though.

just remember to insure your stuff.... i usually insure if for 3 times as much as its really worth, but thats just me. as for the people at fedex stealing and §§§§, i think they should tie him up outside the city building and let us all shoot him b4 throwing his ass in jail.

I work for Compaq\Hewlett-Packard... they definitely have enough power to sue.. but it doesn't work that way. Just like when we insure the packages and are protected against losing... the shipping companies are protected as well.
