We forgot about the Matrix for a while after the news that Dye had bought the rights to the marker from Generation E. But while we were off gallivanting with new flames the A4 and the Shocker, Dye were working hard to make their mark on their new acquisition.
Today we recieved some pictures and following a few seconds of confusion we realized we were staring at the DM4 – Dye's brand new Matrix.
We only have a list of features for the DM4 at this time, but it looks like a tight ensemble. Here's what she's packing:

yea luckdog it kinda reminds me of an animal too, not sure if it's an elephant,
kinda looks like a cross between an 03 shocker and an elephant :)

Interesting look. But I guess the interchangeable breech went away.

Nope... definitely an elephant. And knowing Dye... it's got a price tag the size of one.

and i'm sorry....i'm not selling my angel for it but it does look really nice.
i can't wait till somebody gets one around here so i can take it apart and see if it's really still a matrix

But the way I see it, is that they killed what the matrix used to be..:lol: i always likes looking at that hunk of marker...with a bare half..and maybe some milling on the other side..:lol:

Why you all haters of the trix? It's a great gun if you get a chance to shoot one. I know the Angel is nice, I shot one for two years, but I mean the Matrix is still a nice gun. The DM4 is actually smaller and lighter than the original Matrix.

The DM4 actually looks pretty sweet in person. The Dye booth had a lot of them lining up their 3 tent booth. The bolt system is pretty sweet... all the internals are connected... and the lpr is inside the gun... the little notch in the front is actually a air bleed. It feels really light.. but when holding the Ironman one and this together.. I couldn't feel a difference.. when I first saw it in person.. it reminded me of a gun from the game Halo...
They have it there to shoot air through it and it is pretty fast... I can shoot the NYX faster.. out of the box though... it also has a dye symbol in the grip that flashes everytime the trigger shoots...
Unfortunately they are selling this gun for $1,600.00 here at the show.

I would never get one any way and now that ive seen the price i sure ill never get one its angel all the way! Acutally when i get around 1000 dollars im upgrading to a speed probably.
But i was wondering if any1 new its MROF?
What benefit does this have over the speed? Besides that it's a nerf gun

it's really nice in person.....the integrated on/off is cool.....the bolt is smaller and the lpr is in the back but it works exactly like the old ones....not like a new shocker or anything...rather just like the original just in a better package.
the Generation E guys gave it a great review and the Dye guys took one apart for me.....the eye/detent covers are sweet.
it feels good in your hands, very solid and a really nice feeling trigger.
i watched aftershock play their last 3 games w/ them and by god Nicky Cuba was dumping ropes of paint like nobodies business.
very impressive marker in action i must say and i'm pretty picky i don't like much and i look for flaws in everything and pick crap apart like crazy and the only bad thing i can say about one of these things at this point(having not played w/ one yet) is that they didn't have any gloss/polished colors.

I'm an angel lover as much as the next guy and all, but i don't think the choice between an a4 and a dm4 is as simple as "get the a4, it's an angel after all."
The DM4 looks hot, especially the gun metal to black. The new internal srtucture of DM4 (one piece design) is pretty nice, and the air bleed on/off on the front is a good idea.
As far as the A4 goes, it is a speed w/different milling, an lcd and a bunch of gimmicks (ie debounce, a gauge you can barely see and "micro" extrenal trigger adjustments). Angels are great, and I will always own one, but sometimes other guns are better. I think the trix is probably going to be a better choice.
Not to mention that the trix is lp out of the box without putting phallic looking volumizers on it that detract from the flowing milling design and look like crap.
BTW: Phallic= Wieners

In all honesty, the dm4 looks like a pos. Don't know what the hell they were on when they designed the way it looks. Hopefully it looks better in person.

Honestly, it's a great gun. The board and eyes in the DM4 are made by the same guy who made the board and eyes in the NYX Matrix. So far, I've seen pretty bad efficiency from it, and it won't get much better due to DYE telling companies to stop producing all aftermarket products for the Matrix. Aside from this, the gun probably has the best consistancy and it is extremely fast. I'm also hearing of an issue with it being banned from the NPPL because of "added shots."

This Dye Matrix looks like a piece of crap, Dye I'm sorry but the only place this thing should go is in a damn trash compacter. This is almost as bad as the Alien Species Timmy.

AHHHH this was a talk on TAGS a while ago...jeeze come on people the angel can school any marker that comes out, im sry but Dye should never have gotten into it, dont get me wrong i love Dye's products but this was a sad, sad mistake
