Has anyone else had a problem when on a sunny day when using your Speed it stops firing ... but the moment a shadow get s on the grip frame (the side the display is on ) it starts fireing again!?!

If it makes a difference:

Black speed
clear egg2
std Skin grips....

Every thing is tightened up and properly attached... and it only happens at certain angle...

Cheers for your help

Neil

ive heard of it, try using some black tape where the sunlight might get in,

i've had something similar appen to my ir3, when i tilt it a certain way it wont shoot, but i dont think it's the sunlight cu it wasnt facing the sun and there's no TOE hole so i cant really figure it out, this also only seems o happen to me when i'm playing

Run a search. We went through this same thing not to long ago. basically it has to do with light getting through the TOE adjustment hole and tripping the OPTO switch's safety feature.

are the grips you have clear?

I'm with the tape idea. Just seal off anywhere it looks like light might get in, and you should be good to go.

you shouldnt have to put ugly elecrical tape on a 1000 dollar gun

I've sent to an angel tech over here and he's looking at it... hopefully with the bit of sunshine we had over the weekend he had a chance to look at it....

F5monkey: the grips are black std ones...

It only happened when the sun was on the screen side and at a certain angle... i then started running the trigger, and my mate would cast the shadow and then remove it... everytime the shadow was there it fired...

That's what it is. The sun is tripping the OPTO board safety.try this:
-Set up your trigger TOE
-Remove the trigger
-On the inside of the grip frame do the electrical tape fix (this way it doesn't show from the outside if the gun)

The board is sensitive to sunlight, never set it down with the display facing towards the sun. Read your manual.

It is a safety feature built into the board.

if it works at that then let it be. btw, you will also find that if you take off your left grip, pull trigger and hold, and shine a light at the opti sensor correctly, you will get the gun to nicely drop into full auto  heres a littly tell and listen, i know it sounds messy cuz my mike sux, but you get the idea  :blasting: gimme your email, and ill send the sound file, damn AOG wont upload it heh.
