The one you have IS the best bolt. Only one better would be the A4 bolt.

The stock Bolt is an almost direct copy of what was one of the best aftermarket bolts made, the R-11. But any bolt made for the IR3 will fit.

Cobra: www.cobrpaintball.com
New dezingns: Sorry don't know the link.

Personally, I don't think you'll see much if any improvement over the stock one.

The A4 bolt isn't available seperately yet. Not even on WDP's site. And YES it will fit the speed.

Why do you consider the 4 bolt better?

acoenfam1
10-15-2003, 09:30 AM
The tip prevents the first ball in the stack from rolling back against the bolt face when using force feed hoppers (HALO). And hence in theory removes one of the reasons for chopping, the second ball entering the breach and being cut by the bolt.

I just got my "4" bolt yesterday. It required a minor ram adjustment the set it up (get the click on closing the breach). I'll let you all know how it works out this weekend.

Acoenfam1,

Where did you get your "4" bolt and how much was it? Any links?

My speed comes monday and I am waiting for a silver "4" to come out.

I want to make sure my Speed doesn't get that "ball roll back" chop with the HALO and the soft touch tip sounds like the way to do it.

I got mine form Warped Sportz: www.warpedsportz.com it's not listed on the site right now you'll have to call 'em (888-235-9277). Try the sponsors though they might have it a bit cheaper.

how much was it from WS?

acoenfam1
10-16-2003, 09:31 PM
More than the $25.00 it's listed as and I'm sure the sponsors would sell it for ($35.00 from WS). But it was available right then. Supply and demand ya know.

Ok like I said here's how things went today.

Field Speed Limit: 285
Radar Chrono: 281, 283 280 282
Chops: 0
Bolt stick: 0
Total Shots: 1700 (played designated IDIOT in todays tourney)

Overall fit was slightly looser than the stock bolt but not much. I wouldn't part with this thing for 10X what I paid for it. Without a doubt worth the money.

I wonder if I dropped one of these bolts into my old reliable Featherlite Warped Sportz LCD if it would allow me to use a HALO??

Hmmm... :puzzled:

And from yesterdays finals:

Shots: Approx. 2400-2500
Chrono: Again about a 3 fps window
Chops: 0
Stuck bolts: 0

If there's a stronger case for this bolt I don't know it.

Moocow128

That bolt sounds sick! No chops or stuck bolts on over 4000 shots!

yea it's a nice bolt i've had mine for a month now, works ok but the one strange thing i did notice about it is that it seems to gain wear much faster than my stock bolt did, then again it might have been all the fine dust that the field in aruba was made out of
