hey, i just dryfired about 200 shots, i had about 1000 psi left, and when it got down to 200psi or so, it started leaking... majorly... not through the regulator but through the gun, the rise and the barrel.. is this supposed to happen when it gets low on pressure?

shouldn't but may be this:

If you aren't getting enough pressure behind the valve it may not seal properly. You may want to have a look at your exhaust valve stem (cupseal) to see if it has been damaged.

you don't have enough pressure as stated to reseat everything.....fill your tank again and you'll be fine.

i checked the exhaust valve stem and it looks ok. i think you're right about it not getting enough pressure behind the valve because i was already running it stock at about 200 psi so... thats probably it.

i was also wondering, is it bad for the internals to dry fire a lot?

it won't hurt your marker in the slightest.

how does the marker know whether you've got an empty hopper or not? It doesn't. It can't tell the difference. It's not like a Cocker or a Spyder where it does cause damage, you're not really "dry firing" in the purest definition of the word, you're simply "firing without paint" 2 totally different settings.

Dry firing the gun is not bad for it. As for you leak you're on taget thnking you don't have enough pressure to seat the valve seal.

Chances are your problemis this...

When you check out the valve. the spring MUST be sitting on the valve pin properly and centered. This can be achieved by shaking the marker lightly with it pointed up, to get the spring in place. Once that is done, the valve guide must also be set in the spring as well.

If this is not done, everything sits crooked and the valve pin isn't pushed flat against the valve, there for it will leak at low pressure.

Try that I bet that is your problem.
