if it's running the Palm OS version 3.1 or better I believe was the min requirement.

sorry but i don't think it will. I had a phase where i was a palm pilot geek, and the original palms do NOT have infared capabilities. Handsprings will work, as handspring uses palm software

actually Handsprings don't work, there is a conflict as they are running a different version of the Palm OS:wink:

Err... well... I'm going to bid a handheld on ebay, and some older model are only 10-20 shipped, but I would like to make sure it will work before getting one. Anyone know where I can find out for sure?

OK, here's what I find out, the Handspring DO WORK. I bought a Handspring Visor Plantium and it work. btw, eBay have some really cheap old handheld, I got mine for $20.
Anyway, what's "Custom Modes" for, what are those dots? and why are there 2 COPS setting? (COPS1 and COPS2)
Thanks in advance.

custom modes is useless because you can't unlock the IR3.
there are 2 different settings for COPS because there are 2 different versions of COPS.
COPS 1 was MEM2-5
COPS 2 is MEM6
use the settings that are appropriate for your MEM version.
maybe it was the Tungstens that had a problem, I can't remember right now and I can't look it up as I'm at work. Bill Mills did a write up of the Palm Software right after Cup last year, and he addressed the situation at that time. Check WARPIG.

I've been using a handspring visor for over a year now.It has to have an OS 3.5 or higher I believe.Mine came with 4.0.
Emmit,Have you tried any of the stuff on your 4?
