Ever since I've got my angel, it's had batt probs (i.e. not staying charged over a week). But now, it's a little different.

When I set the gun to charge, it will only charge maybe an hour or two before it stops charging, then displays 1 bar as being charged (it stops cascading). When I flip the switch off then on again, it will resume charging for a brief period of time (5-10 mins). I was thinking maybe there was a fault, but when I scanned the menu something caught me eye. The temp red 104*F!!! But in the matter of about two minutes (of not charging) it cooled to a normal 80*F.

The gun appears to shoot okay (aside from the battery not lasting very long). Replacing the battery was already on my "to do list" when I acquire the money, but I don't understand why the board is going so hot. Another thing to note, although the board gets that hot, it does not fault; but rather just stops charging (yet still stays on).

Suggestions...?

i'm having the exact same problem with my battery, i replaced it with my brother's battery and all is well, so it's a bad battery, i'm gonna buy a new one ASAP, as far as the temperature, dont know what could be causing that, was it a hot day or something? and the batteries might make it slightly hotter since batteries usually warm up a bit when charging, so the solution to your problem is a new battery unfortunately

yea thats a known problem for overcharging the non mem battery which is like 2k1 and before angels or something liek that. just replace the abattery and all should be well.

Yea, you need a new battery dude. The board is getting hot because you're drawing to much current (there's a short somewhere) and heating it up.

I agree that I need a new battery, but what about the short you are referring to, wouldn't that be a board problem?

the short could be anywhere.....could be a pinched wire somewhere exposing wire to the body of the marker.....a short doesn't necessarily mean it's a board problem.

yes any battery can go bad, i was just stating its widely known in lcd's for batteries to do that in msot cases. my friends fly had the same thing with the battery.

true, and as far as the heating thing, i think it's most likely a short involving the battery, it's wires touching or something,

why do i think so? well try connectiong the contacts of a 9 volt battery or any battery, notice how the battery starts getting warm immediatly

Ok, so I took the battery out to make sure nothing is pinched. NOTHING is pinched/bare/anything as far as wires go. Also my battery is the NI-MH.

A question... are the wires supposed to be soldered to the toggle switch? I figured they would have clips or something... how am I suppose to put them back on?

did you pull them off?? yea i thought they had clips too at first but they dont, you're supposed to unscrew the entire on/off switch and take that out along with the battery, you can just solder it back on though

How gay is that. Oh well, so when I replace the battery will it come with a new switch (and wiring harnesses)?
