I keep breaking paint in the barrel of my angel ir3. Now it was a lot worst but I used a freak today instead of my stock barrel and matched up the paint/bore size which help immensely. MY FRIEND SAID ANGELS OPERATE AT A LOW VELICOTY SO YOU DONT BREAK PAINT IN THE BARREL. IS THAT TRUE???
At one time I was shooting two balls at a time but I quickly found out it was just my ball detent loose.
I still break like 1 paintball in my barrel through about every hopper I go through. I'm using 32 degrees competition paint. (with freak)
I break like 10 paintballs in my barrel through about every hopper I go through when I use my stock barrel.
So as you can tell its a matter of the paint/bore size but something else is going on.
Things I have went over:
-Nothing blocking the bolt, breech, feed tube, or barrel
-My dwell is still set a 14 I never touched it
-I did mess with my bps I have it at 15 w/ cops and 15 w/o cops
-My paint is is good condition and is fresh when used
-I break more paint when I shoot around 285-290
-I break less paint when I shoot 250-270

I used some of the Team Colors competition paint, and it was pure crap. The guy told us it was new, but it broke in everyone's guns, barrels, etc. when people were using it. The cases were supposedly brand new, but they were all terrible. Might just be the paint. I would try some other brand of paint if you can before you start blaming the problem on your angel. I personally really like Kick'n. I think that is the best paint I have ever shot.
It's probably just a bad stock barrel.

I would try an RPS or Diablo brand of paint. Theres other good ones but I never have chopping or break problems with RPS.
Also, 15bps mrof is going to be too high unless you are using a halo b or evo II.

One of the worst brands of paint ever made. Use the Diablo, or the RPS. RPS is very good.

yeah i agree with everyone; its most likely the paint. Its amazing how good paint affects your marker's performance.
Diablo Premium. Spend the extra cash.

What WDPforme forgot to add was that all the brands of paint that he put into his feedneck rolled right past the ball detent. The ball is still in the socket and is still spring loaded. It is tight. It just doesnt hold the ball it lets it go right down the barrel. This might be causing the barrel breaks since he was firing two ball at a time.

Yea, I don't think the specs are all that great or consitent on the ball detents. Every one I have ever used (All WDP) has needed to be adjusted differently. The finger tight rule may be good enough in most cases but not always. I have a selection of different size o-rings so I can adjust the detent finger tight to were it just holds the ball. Too tight and you end up with poor accuracy and consiteny. Too loose and you get the double feed.

team colors are not bad, atleast not the new stuff (made on the same machines as Draxxus) its just a barrel matching, i tried using blaze and midnight this weekend and it was no good, balls were a tad tight compared to the team colors i shoot and they broke like 1 out of 2 or 3 shoots the team was like 1 out of 15 i guess. i dont know what was going on. best stuff i have shot so far is inferno but it wasnt as consitent on the chrono as pmi premium, but the inferno breaks better then the premium on people IMO. o and unless you live in canada. most paint from national (draxxus, diablo, 32 degrees) is not going to be new or fresh, most likely it is atleast a month old.

where did you get the different size orings? Sounds like that is the problem. I guess we will try it with the oring removed and see what happens. Thanks alot.

I think I got them at Home Depot or Lowes. They are all the same diameter, just different thickness.
