i just got an ss hammer for my speed. i need to knwo, are thee hammers pressed on or threaded? how are you supposed to get them off?

They are threaded and locktited on the ram and I highly suggest you take it to a sponsor/tech to have them remove it.

there is a allen screw in the hammer.loosen the screw and unscrew the hammer.do not grab the ram shaft with any type of pliers or vice grips!!!!

you make it seem so easy, theres no other way to get teh hammer unscrewed cuz its locktited. u need to grab the ram shaft, but still no movement. and i shot it today, everything still works fine, cept its a **** brass ram

An old thick leather belt and a pair of vice-grips work well and do no harm.Also works great for stuck feed necks and other polished or anodized do-dads.

oh u mean put belt around to pad the ram tube from damage from teh vice grips? i see the light :D

If you absolutelly have to do it yourself.........
1)Remove the set screw in the hammer
2)Heat sink the shaft
3)Heat the hammer rapidly (as to not allow enough time for the heat to travel down the shaft beyond the heat sink) MAP gas is recommended.
4)Remove hammer, should be easily removable by hand (gloved of course)
5)Cool shaft

But I still recommend getting it over to a service center

there arent any angel service centers near me. my store might be able to do it, but theyre a lil more trix friendly
