His trigger pivot is probably the rear, with pretty much no travel at all.

Action75
10-25-2002, 07:36 PM
capnut: nope, didnt chop any paint, all went like clockwork and my gun said"you amaze me"
Roy: i have a custom trigger job done by Walter and chris at cobra paintball. it has approximately a .1mm trigger pull to it...and i am able to bounce the trigger.

too bad you'll likely get penalized by a NPPL chrono judge when he chronos your gun and two+ shots go off per pull.

this is why WDP came out with the optiswitch in the first place. But cool stuff nonetheless.

Action75
10-26-2002, 02:31 PM
tempest261: it is only one shot=one pull. I do not have it where if you pull the trigger, it will fire anymore than just once for every trigger pull. It is perfectly sanctioned and will not get me kicked out or penalized from any tournament.

Tempest261
10-26-2002, 02:34 PM
if the ref pulls the trigger and 2 balls come out, he will remove your gun and possibly you from the tournament. I've heard of this happening, and it is why WDP created the opti-switch, which allows you to get your trigger as short as you want without a bounce.

some of the "bounce" is also attributed to electrical noise and inconsistency in the switch when you get your trigger that short.

It's NOT NPPL legal. At least that's what every tournament ref has told me anyway.

Action75
10-26-2002, 02:42 PM
by pulling the trigger, the NPPL rules states that this means a full range of motion. EX: A full trigger pull is where the ref will pull the trigger in one full motion all the way back till it stops, then realease it. If it shoots more than once, you are gone. However, if it only shoots once, as mine does, you go on to play. Trust me, i have had refs confront me about it and they say that its fine.

Action75
10-26-2002, 02:55 PM
also, when i had the trigger job done, i had walter and chris's word that it is legal in all respects

Action75
10-26-2002, 02:56 PM
Tempest, you are right though, there probably are going to be refs who will pull me

there was more than one instance at Cup this week where a players gun was not allowed on the field because the Ref said there was too much "bounce" in the trigger. It's all up to the ref when he shoots the gun at the chrono...

capnut
10-26-2002, 05:52 PM
but the opti. switch can do this too. its just setting it right like mine......18bps on OPTI......here the thing about Ref. it is up to him and only him too turn you away....it's in black and white.

nice. Now that we.ve gotten to 19 with a semi -auto board, lets see who can get to 20 next. If any of you are wondering what the importance of shooting so fast is, there is no other reason other than to say that i did it and can do it again and again. I never shoot that fast in any game..i dont think. Usually im shooting around 13

capnut
10-30-2002, 07:35 AM
i know, i play the front so every little shoot helps......lol.....and for the 20 shoot......i have to get more air.

Capnut
looks like your plastic board cover is removed,
if so is it easy to change the jumper setting config to see if you can access full-auto mode??

capnut
10-30-2002, 07:39 PM
what??? i did the trigger work myself ............not the board........and for the cover well, i did it to get a clear picture.

WarpedKid02

Capnut's gun is an LCD not iR3. Also, is your trigger pull very very small, and stops right after it shoots?

capnut
10-30-2002, 09:57 PM
yes this is a LCD but i also got 18 on the IR3 Fly but still working on the 19 and this is the opto trigger and the lcd is the mic. trigger.......and yes the pull....wait what pull.....lol

capnut
10-30-2002, 10:21 PM
here is a picture of my IR3 with the opto trigger.....still working on that one for 19 or better.......

hey capnut, good luck sunday at the season finale nepl.

I can't get the trigger pull very, very small on the middle pivot point at all. The only way I can get it like that is on the front pivot point. Like the click of a mouse. But even then its kinda stiff. It sucks I can only get 12bps!! I hear the middle pivot point you can achieve 1 or 2 more bps. Anything I can change to get more bps. Springs? Trigger? Anything? COPS isn't on and MROF is 20.

Tempest261
11-01-2002, 08:35 AM
Yeah, I noticed this too. It's obvious that you get more actuation per trigger pull from a front pivot from a rear pivot, but man, the difference is pretty big. VERY hard to get a short rear-pivot pull (at least for me).

J.Sweeney-AOG
11-01-2002, 08:56 AM
That's how I hit 19. Really short pull with a rear pivot point. Just pull the trigger 2 or 3 times and then let it bounce. Almost sounds like being on ramp mode and then switching to FA. Anyway, now I need to find a loader to keep up.

Jonny
11-02-2002, 07:56 PM
I got the same thing. Back pivot, short pull with the switch clicking right at the beginning of the pull... 19BPS and sounds like a ramp.

capnut
11-02-2002, 10:49 PM
no.........! semi. ONLY!............... what i did was file down the nipple and put in a set screw. this is where you can get that bounce.

You can get 20bps with the new upgraded opto boards.
And a trigger job.
Only problem is that is only in the range area.
Try doing it in a game and you get about 16 (when someone is shooting at you, funny how you lose a bit of concentration), and the balls are all over the place.
Not that practical

Action75
11-04-2002, 05:42 PM
i agree that it isnt that practical in the sense of kills to balls shot ratio. But it gets peoples heads down, allowing me and my teamates to move up quickly. An yes i can shoot that fast in a game, u just learn to touch the trigger in a certain spot and it will just fire 19bps no problem. However, since i have gotten rid of my halo due to its ability to make paint smoothies occasionally, i now have a revy with xboard, so at max i can shoot around 14bps

capnut
11-04-2002, 09:44 PM
well, frist i am a front guy so my range area is not that bad .....and man it is sick see that gun ripppppppit....... so my other guys can do that move.....nice

you can't really get trigger bounce with an opto trigger...part of the bounce is the switch throwing the trigger pack....

the best thing to do with any trigger is find your sweet spot, and then set the trigger so you're happy with the ROF you're getting from it right there

I adjusted my IMpact trigger on my Dark the other day so that it would be on full auto, and when we first tested it out (without paint) it hit 19 bos, I dont think that it can hit 20. But with paint, its not too nice hehe, we were using an intelli hopper, but we are working on getting my HAlo to be compatable
