I know this has been brought up before but please bear with me. I've been going through the manual looking for the part about firing the 10 slow shots to allow the sensi to self cal but I must be blind 'cause I don't see it. Hell I even read it while they were MRI'ing my knee yesterday (talk about boring). How did we find this out? Did someone e-mail Frazier about it? Or is it just an "old wives tale"?

I don't excactly know how 'we' found out, perhaps fraser told someone, i don't know. I think it was mentioned it the 'got speed problems? look here first' thread.
But it really isn't in the manual, so don't bother looking

The new Sensi mode on the Angel Speed has been very well received with players reporting no ball breakages. The 2 concerns we have noticed to date are:
That when they dry fire the Speed, 1) it appears slower in Sensi Mode than in Semi Mode and, 2) They do not understand why the Speed still fires.
This is because they have not calibrated their marker and the solution is to switch the Speed off and on and then put some paint through it in order to allow it to calibrate, this will usually take around 5 shots. The reason it is still firing even though there is no paint present is because the Sensi does not activate until it has calibrated.
Speed is firing very slowly with Sensi on. This again will be happening when the Speed is being dry fired. The difference is that they will have previously calibrated the Sensi by putting paint through their Speed and therefore it will be activated and now they are dry firing it will be limiting their rate of fire to between approximately 1 and 3 BPS.
In modes 1 and 3, they will still be able to fire the Speed because it is programmed to need a clearing shot once it has detected that no paint is present and it is this clearing shot that is being activated when they dry fire the marker.
in the e-mail sent at the top of the speed forum in "speed problems, look here first", not sure if this is the place where it was first originated, but i know its explained here.

I would think that it's one of those things that should be in the manual though. I mean if it's taught in the Tech classes, where I'm assuming this info came from, it's something owners should know.

i don't take the time to calibrate mine, because i kill 2 birds with one stone when i go to chrono (i don't use a tourney lock on my geddon, so i have to fiddle witht he pressure every time i play)
