ok guys i have a black 2k2 max flow new style and i have been offered a 2k2 Black Angel Air . I know the Air is made for the angel but i have heard mixxed reviews about it. And the max flow is so simple and i find them very consistent. SO i dont know what to do. Also i do play for a smart parts sponsored team but they dont care what guns or air sytems we run. Only barrels and jerseys.

Comments are welcome oh and im runnign a Black Stock ir3.

me persoanally would be in a tough siuation myslef. the maxflow is very consistent and has an on/off valve unlik the air. the air has a cool lcd screen and no on/off and some re having problems with flash fills. i would probably keep the maxflow in your situatuion

I agree Keep the max flo.

I think it is a bit lighter
just as consistent
on/off
Handles flash fills better
overall easier to service and take apart/fix

keep the maxy...

Max-Flo because it has on/off.

i know a tech who said he knows this guy who has AIR and he had to rebuild the seals 2 times in one day, and al together he's replaced the seals about 8 times....but when it is working it's amazingly consistent (i hear). as for the max flow, i haven't heard any bad comments, only one is you can't take the tank of or something liek that?

angel airs are lame hype. the few i have seen all leaked and suppositly the max flow is the most consistent reg on the market and the air is just average. i dont have a maxflow on my angel yet but i do have an old one on my shocker turbo and even while running CO2 it still shot +/- 4 bps and i have only taken it apart and cleaned it once in over 2 years so they are low maintenance too.

yeah the max flow is my choice i just have to wait for them to get it in! The one i picked i guess is kinda rare since i havent seen it before , all black dusted. But its going to go good with my ir3 . I have seen some chrony reading from the max flwo like 280, 280, 281 which was just amazing so it kinda sold me on the deal btu when seeing angel airs doing the same thign i was kinda iffy.

I saw two of my teammate's AIR systems go down during the same tournament because of the 'flash fill problem'. In addition, the AIR doesnt have an on/off and its not easily user servicable.

The maxxy on the other hand is easily maintained and/or repaired. Its incredibly consistant, isnt nearly as picky as the AIR, has an on/off and is even cheaper. I think its an easy decision.

i USED TO have an angel AIR on my cocker and qwell it kept crappin out with that damn flash fill problem. sold it and used a screw in for a while until i bought my shocker on which i used a max flo and now get +/- 2 fps. they are owhere near as picky as angel AIR's and they can be put back together easily in minutes. i will never regret choosing the max flo. all i need now is to wait until my high pressure reg comes in so i can put it on my angel!.

I too bought a nice blue MaxFlow, new style, instead of an AngelAir.

While, of course, the lcd-screen and stuff on the Air is cool, it's also another source of problems. A couple of my friends have Air-systems, and one of them managed do destroy the lcd, I think, and the other one had a battery that died.

And both of them had to send in to a tech.

You don't experience these kind of problems with the maxflow, and if you DO have problems, you most likely are able to fix them yourself

I have had my air a year, nothing has ever blown, it is amazingly consistant, on my ir3 a run a gas thorugh grip and there is a -/+ 1 in the fps while shooting rapidly, it's a great tank, most fields will will the airs slow if you ask them and cobra sells a fill restrictor if u really want to be safe, just make sure it's off if you fil it with under 1000 psi in it, and you'll be fine. It is a great tank, I have tried everything and researched, i loved it so much I bought one for my cocker too.

After seeing this thread, I'm going to keep my max-flo instead of buying an angel air.

i use the air cause it looks so damn great and the weight is not a problem whith the 45 cu bottle.... Theres always a certified air tech around and the bottle is so easy to connect not alot of drops and such. The lcds screens great but i admit its not that nescessary, mellis in joy division runs his air without the battery so his lcd´s dead.... I just love it... I ahvemt tried max flo yet... will l8er though... Peace

Try using the search button under the AIR thread and you'll find your answer.

Max Flo's suck! You have to constantly re-build them. Get A.I.R.!

Air all the way.

I use an Air on my IR3 and a 4500 new style Maxflow on my Freak Factory Impulse.
The Max flow is lighter, not that the few ounces are noticable though.
My AIr is two years old, apart from servicing it,which every system needs, ive left it alone because its never had a problem...oh I forgot, every now and then I need to change a battery,I carry a spare in my toolbox. Its also very, very constant and easier to clean after a hit.I added an after market on/off,only costed me 5$.I dont think that working on the system is hard, takes a while longer than a Max flow only because there are more parts.
My Max flow is every bit as constant as the Air,is faster to work on,but needs to be kept very clean to remain constant,I normally clean and regrease the internals once every two weeks, the Air is a little more forgiving.
The max is a pain to clean after a hit,so many recesses.
The grub screws on the rail are very easily damaged too.Apart from that it is a relativley tall system,i find the Air easier to play tight with.
The Air and the Max are the best systems available, use which one takes your fancy, you cant really go wrong with both of them.
One thing about flash fills, the Air vents the excess pressure out of the right side over the red disc, this avoids damaging the tank with heat and stress, the max flow cannot do this, one question guys, how often do you get your tank checked after a flash fill???Id recommend filling slowly with every system, you wont damage your tank and you can fill more pressure.

ok...I'll settle it, get an AGD 4500 Flatline. I have one, it works GREAT! Fully adjustable 0-1200PSI, 1/4 turn on/off and its a sinch to maintain

sure you have to baby the AIR a little bit but it's worth it I mean come on guys how many of you baby our angels hmm? I think if something is going to be performance it's gonna be a little touchy the AIR is touchy but with the right care it will be as reliable as your angel is.................

wow that just took a big turn,

air just belongs with an angel; like a a maxflow on a evolution it was just meant to be

And if you get dirt in the max flow cap, ohh baby, have fun cleaning, and have fun w/ creeping reg to the max

Or just do what I'm doing and get the lightest system out, the MacDev Conquest.

2theMaxx21
04-02-2003, 02:15 AM
Or just do what I do, get the most consistent air system, the MaxFlo, then go to the gym and build up your sissy arm muscles.

I had a Conquest. It was pretty nice, but the on/off switch could practically amputate your finger.
