View Full Version : So my SENSI stopped working...

I broke paint in the gun towards the end of the day. I cleaned it out and did the drop test, none passed.
I totally broke down the gun and cleaned it all. I tried applying slight pressure to the sensi pad with the element with it off the gun in the test mode, still nothing.
I put the gun back together and put it in test mode and tried the test again, still nothing. Connections to the board are good so my only guess is that the sensi pad went bad?
It was working before this weekend.
Please help.

Your rod could be damaged, try putting in the other rod, makes sure it is able to touch the sensi pad.

Check your pad and make sure it's not cracked.

The yellow strip can be cracked where it's hard to see. But it does sound like it. You didn't pinch any of the wires by any chance, did you?

No pinched wires. Its all clean, and it doesn't detect any balls. The sensor is plugged it. It didn't look like the strip was cracked but then again I wasn't looking for a crack :(. I'm pretty sure the pad is toast and this is after my first weekend using the gun.

yeah if one of the yellow strips is broken (likely the top one) you will constantly get a flase reading. That's what was wrong with my COPS sensor, and I had to replace it.

Try the drop test with paintballs instead of pushing the rod, it needs to register an impact. Piezo sensors produce a voltage pulse depending on the time/bending, not static position. (SENSi detecting ballstack pressure etc. is a rumor)
The wires may be slightly cracked (even inside the insulation) or the connector may have bad contact. The strip may also be defect even if no visible damage is apparent. If you've charged the marker, cleaned the sensor rod and its placement hole but still don't get results in the droptest, take it to a tech. If there are other speed owners in your area, you might try asking real nice if you can try your marker with their sensor element to check whether it's the element or the board.

Try replacing the SENSI sensor. You might damaged it during your cleaning operation.
