I still have yet to find out what happens if I turn my dwell down, I am told not to take it off of the factory setting (14) and I also hear that if it is lower than the angel is not so loud and better on gas but worse on paint...what should I know if I want to turn my dwell down?

well the factory setting of 14 is supposed to be a good middle of road setting. The lower you go the less amount of time your valve stays open so you get a higher blast of air so you risk blowing up brittle paint...the higher you go the longer the valve stays open so it's nicer to paint, but you waste a lot of air...
the factory says don't change it unless you're trying to tune the gun to a specific paint, or accessory

generally you just leave it at 14. The only reason i change my dwell is durring the winter when paint is more brittle. Thats when i put my dwell at 16-18 so its easier on paint. It will consume more gas but oh well, i get free air fills anways.

When i was at the IAO the hell fire was breaking alot.I went to the WDP both and ask the tech's about raising the dwell to make the paint not break. They told me that adjusting the dwell is for tunning only it is to give you the right ( fps ) so by raising your dwell you might think it is helping you not break paint but it might be causing your fps to be way off.

After 4 years of owning LCDs (now IR3s) I've found that my dwell goes on 13 and stays on 13.
I can handle any paint, any weather condition with no problems.
Exactally what all the techs have told me before. Works wonders on LCD's

why run 13ms rather than factory set 14ms? Efficiency reasons?
