This isn't an earth shattering idea, but the little things add up.
I'm always trying to think of ways to better my game. And I hate when my hopper just barely gets nailed, like a glancing shot. The Halo is already pretty "aerodynamic" and balls frequently glance off of it. But I got bored the other day, and figured that I'd put some car polish/wax on the smooth finish of the Halo. And wow did it make it smooth! I then went out and played the whole day, and never got any direct hopper hits. It might have been luck, but it seemed like the balls glanced off of it a lot more than usual. If you've got some extra time on a rainy day, why not give your hopper a polish. You might end up staying in the game longer. It can't hurt. Plus it makes it easier to clean off the paint if does break on your hopper. The wax makes the paint "bead up", and wipe off easier.
I don't think you could polish the matte finish on a revvy. It has to be smooth. If you don't have any car polish you could use some barrel treatment that works like wax, like Armson Teflon barrel treatment. Just let it dry to a haze then wipe it off good with a towel.
You might also be able to do this on a glossy visor, like the visor on the Proteus. I hate when a ball just barely hits the edge of my visor. A little smoother finish might make it glance off instead of breaking.
