I know that alot of talk has been going around about not being able to buy a WDP spaceframe or an iR3 board "off the shelf" and people wanting to know where to get them. I just want to list where you can get both of these (although they're a little expensive) for all of you with LCDs, and also so people will stop starting new threads about where to find them...

You can buy a raw WDP spaceframe at Cobra. (the double trigger ones like on the iR3 and Speed, not their single trigger version one) If i remember right it is $165 plus whatever they charge to anno it since it is raw. You can also buy a new mem 6 opto board from them for $250. (i am not talking about getting your board updated) You can also buy a mem 6 board at Warped for $225. I don't know if Warped sells the spaceframes though.

-Also, don't just buy the iR3 board if you want to use it in an LCD 45 frame as the board won't work right and it doesn't fit properly-

From what i understand is that the techs will sell the boards, but you actually have walk into the store and buy it so they won't ship them to you (i haven't figured out why yet), so i guess for all of you who aren't near southern california you're probably out of luck unless there is a tech near you that will sell them to you.

Hope this will set the record straight!

That is money well spent IMO. If this is true i will fly out to cobra to get it. Well maybe not fly out but u get the picture.

yes it works fine in an LCD. i am using the iR3 board in my spaceframed 2k3 LCD and the are no problems.

I knew that one of these days someone would sell a real space frame. It is kind of exspensive though. But it is money well spent, no lcd's can finally compete with the big boys.

Goryevilkitty

yeah, here is a pic showing the board running on the gun but all of the pics i take are going to be a little blurry because i have to take them with my cell phone.

isn't that ffry's? or was ffry's? Looks good Gory! Rather interesting setup. How efficient is it?

Goryevilkitty

thanks. it is just as effiicient as a regular ir3 since 2k3s has all ir3 internals. it is just like ffry's but no it isn't his (it's the same idea as his though). i got the spaceframe from a seller on here and then just went to cobra and bought the ir3 board since i didn't want to mill the frame to fit an lcd board. as for the setup, i thought it would be more practical to make upgrades like these instead of trying to sell the gun and loose money buying a new one.

well that's above $400 for board plus grip, you could just sell your lcd and use a bit more and get a brand new ir3

mayhempaintball

or you could just buy a space frame, sand it down and put your lcd board in it. **** 400, ill spend 100 or less

plus i got a hook up on a black space frame pre cut for an lcd for 40 bux not too long ago.. and no i cant get more

can the ir3 board be modified to fit the 45 frame?

mayhempaintball
08-12-2003, 10:28 AM
yes, thats why there are 45 frames for ir3s

coreyguy1
08-12-2003, 11:58 PM
so the board fits... or do you have to mod it?

Goryevilkitty
08-14-2003, 08:24 PM
you have to modify it, i tried putting it in my old 45 frame and it stuck up too far out of the frame so the grips wouldn't go around it

also, i have seen a lot of people asking if they did put an ir3 board in their lcd, would they infrared stuff work? well i just bought a sony clie to see if it would and yes all of the infrared and palm features are fully compatible if you have an ir3 board in an lcd

do u get all the ir3 featurs? like will it use a micro switch like the lcd or will it use a beam like the ir3?

Goryevilkitty
08-21-2003, 10:13 PM
that depends one which ir3 board you have (the mico-switch board or the opto-switch board) i have the opto board in mine so yeah mine has the beam. and yes, i can use all the ir3 features except for COPS, but i am working on a way that i can have it put in by having the body milled.

jomama22
08-21-2003, 10:18 PM
so realy u bought the gun for the milling? lol, jp

what i did since the spaceframe is so expensive is waited until i found one used on here for about $100 then just bought the board at cobra. if you want that setup without spending as much, that's what i would suggest doing.

I like my DYE LCD how it is, and there's nothing you can say to change that!!!!!

spaceframes rock...... bottomline.

the topic of putting the ir3 boards in lcd frames seems a bit hazy to me at least. you cannot put an ir3 board into an lcd 45 frame, however you can purchase a specially made ir3 45 frame at cobra or 888paintball

It all seems like a lot of work to make a IR3 frame work on a LCD so why not just sell your LCD and get the IR3 upgrade? Its the lingo around here to upgrade any marker to an IR3 upgrade. The gun works wonders and why mess with changing (LCD) so much for so little of a performance difference??

ok any news on how the board will work with a 2k2 LCD?

Goryevilkitty
08-28-2003, 06:55 PM
it will work with any LCD but you have to have an iR3 frame to put it in.
