is it possible to get a lcd to shoot more than 20 balls a second with a new board or something
Wrong. Yes, with a very rare morlock board. I have no idea how one would aquire one of these. Supposedly WAS has something in store too. WHo knows.

This is their site:
http://www.exarin.com
Just go to products and you can find the Morlock board.
Might be worth waiting to see what WAS has in mind though...

Look for the hellspawn angel in about two months. The prototype is about to be put into function. It is on paper right now. It will cost about 250 dollars and give you an ace, a new board and lcd, and a few internal changes. There will be a mod you can buy, and there will be some guns made and then sold. It is from Advanced Paintball. The website is not up yet, but it will be in a month. Just be patient, it is a very extensive mod that will take some tweaking at first, and the inventor will not realease it until it works perfectly. Your LCD will never chop again!

that was almost funny

I was being serious. I am the designer of the hellspawn. I will be finishing setting up a prototype this weekend, and I will practice with it next weekend. Then, I am going to play a whole tourney with it. If there are no problems, we will begin making more of them and cleaning up the design to make it work better. I have to go CAD some eye covers now.

and how are you expecting to redesign an angel and sell it for 250?....

i think it might be a board dude.

i think the halo is better too.... the ACE only works when there is no ball there, the Halo makes sure there is always a ball there....
you guys seen the vid http://www.angel-owners.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11278
this guy is getting nothing for his 250.00 ace mod cus he can't shoot faster than his halo.

he never mentioned a board

It is in fact a board. It also includes the ace drilling and setup and a new lpr. We are also looking at redesigning the ram and making it like a timmy but that will be over a year off and pretty expensive.

o that sounds nice, what does it have that the stock one doesnt, becides ACE

It is really actually more based on the was board than the stock lcd board. It has some more usable features like a working vibes timer that won't break, settings for ace, debounce, timer will be set-able in 1 second increments, and a few other things. We also make the gun lower pressure and more consistent with a new lpr (microrock) in a different location. The bolt gets a few touches too.

nice, be sure to write up a review soon :)
Jay, who is making the boards?

Hey skel, the prototype I am working with now has a was board, but I am making the pcb right now for my own board. I have yet to arrange production of them. I am going to make a few my self with different features before everything is settled, then have someone produce the whole thing. I was originally going to have the boards made and solder the electronics on myself, but I feel that would be too time consuming for me.

yeah, the WAS board can be put in a lot of different guns actually. If the voltages work right, it can be done. I know for a fact WAS boards have been put in matrixes before. If the solenoid votage is the same or you make it work in that area, the dwell remanis the same and the eye controls the back pulse of the gun. Usually your mrof setting would control this, but the eye would control it. I can't wait to see this thing since it seems like it's based on a WAS but the lilttle things fine tuned for an angel.

That is basically what I am doing. At first we were just gonna put was's in angels and make tem led, but everybody that knew about it wanted vibes and an lcd that was pixellated like the timmy, so I figured what the hell, lets makea whole new board!
captncrunch
08-20-2003, 03:28 PM
yeah, lol, I guess. Why can't you just use was's and some how fit a timmy lcd somewhere into it?
Yeah now that I think about it, it may be easier to just make a whole new board if you know what your are doing. I wouldnot even attempt to make a board because I'm not experienced with electronics at all.
Btw, can you still use the solenoid? Does the WAS boards put out the correct voltage for the lcd solenoid?
z_mann_z
08-20-2003, 03:54 PM
Yeah the timmy solenoid uses an identical power coil to throw the spool, so the board will run the angel sol no problem. As far as putting a was with lcd into an angel grip, it gets very tight, and the grips have to be hollowed a bit. It just doesn't look professional. My personal model may have one in there, but I don't know if I will put it in there or not.

yeah, if I were doing it to an lcd,I wouldn't even put an lcd, just the light somewhere to set debounce, dwell and eye mode.
I am seriously considering doing this to an lcd as a project. The hardest part for me would be drilling the holes in the body for eyes.
Does anybody know of someone who could drill holes in the body?
And what size are the intimidator eyes in comparison to the eyes warped puts in when they ace lcds? Because if they are the same size, maybe I could have them drill the holes.

So when do you think this will be out? And what will this mod include and do?
z_mann_z
08-20-2003, 08:53 PM
I have already said what it does, we will begin advertising it in about 4-6 months. It was going to be faster, but I ran into issues with the board. It is going to take more machine work than originally expected to do the mod. Price will be right at 200 for the base, led version of the mod, with the top end with all the bells and whistles costing about 450. I am only going to make about 200 of these max, I don't know how successful this endeavor will be. My goal was to bring the mighty lcd back up to date. I have seen many people asking for this.

Forgive me, but this is a new board n extra things that go into our existing angels right? .... what angels does it cover?
z_mann_z

This will be a mod. Send us your angel and some cash, get back your angel with the hellspawn mod. I t will eventually be able to go into any angel, but right now I am only developing it for 6 volt angels, meaning led, lcd, and ir3. It will take extra work to make it work in the led because I would have to make a new wiring harness but it would work.
