Hey
Today I was playing, I put a friends tank on, aired it up and BOOOOM air shot everywhere, the macro RIPPED the macro connector on the bottom of the reg COMPLETELY off, the little peice where you stick the line in..SHOT into the ground and was ripped apart 3 feet into the dirt. Now..its the bottom of the mini-reg where the black connector is..below the circular part there is a fitting like ring that RIPPED out. Please help..tell me if i need a knew intirely new mini-reg or just a new peice!

If the threads are devastated then you might need the bottom half of a reg. If not, then all you need is a macro fitting. In the meantime, find out what caused it so you don't do it again like Jason said.

This peice : Its circled on the picture...threads? if there were any down there it was shattered.
Ok ..what happened is i think the guy's tank didnt have a rupture disc? And the air RIPPED down on the thing retaining the hose therefore ripping it out. . Picture below becuase im too stupid to add it

it looks like its just the connector.. just unscrew and replace the thing and be done with it. it doesn't have to be a special WDP one or anything.

Yep, like Tempest261 said, just get a new macro fitting.

Happened to me when I was testing the output pressure of my preset... moved the hose a little the wrong way and BOOM psssssssssss. It's a quick fix, new hose. No prob.
Thoese collets really fly, I'm wearing my safety glasses next time.

I switched to braided steel hose with a quick disconnect... also put an on/off valve since the geddon has none

Mine did the same thing - flew across the room! All I did was turn it on.
I replaced the connector - no more problems.

Do the sponsors sell the same fitting as they have on the angels or are the aftermarket.

the fitting broke due to the macro line.look at the line and where the fitting grabs the line i am sure there will be a grove cut into the line.if this grove is allowed to get too deep the inside coller of the macro fitting will release.make sure that you occasionaly check the macro line for wear and just cut that 1/4 in off to make a new tight connection.so just replace trhe fitting and cut back the 1/4 peice and your on your way.
umm yea this happened to me yesterday .. it sent the coilet in to my thumb nail !! splitting my nail in half !!
Seen this happen before when the pressure out of the tank goes over 1200 psi. Better a cheap fitting then your 14 way or something else. Check your output of your tank first and make sure you didnt loose the first stage if its a single reg tank. Which by the sounds of it is. Seen a teamates secondary stage go out and send 1200 into the macro and blow the line. Hose was rated to low (600 psi) anyways but then switched to 800 psi rated line and then found out the secondary was bad but by then it was too late and guess what... the fitting went next. Remember that Hal? Anyways check your output first from your tank.

hmmm I like the fact that just the cheap hose blew .. Insted of something else .. but what would you think would happen if I had a steel line ?

Mine did this within a few months of having my IR3 (July 2002?).
Walking out to the field before a game and POP the same fitting detonated.
Fortunatly a WDP Cetified Tech was working at the field that day (Mr. Moon is the BEST!), swaped out the fitting free of charge and send the broken one back to WDP.
The only repair work I've needed, and was quite happy with the service :)

Yeah, that happened to me one time too. I was getting my MaxFlo filled up, and the fitting on the bottom of the reg just exploded and sent a piece through the metal roof of the building! They had to patch the hole. I'm sure glad that nobody lost an eye. It could have been a bad accident. I checked the output on my reg. It was at 600. Not sure what happened. Maybe WDP got some defective fittings? I've never had any other brand of fitting do that.

wdp fittings arent very safe it seems.. i had an extra one sitting in my spare parts picked it up and it fell apart. i had never even had a piece of macro line through it yet. Kind of scarey.

I've never had any problems with macro line but that microline on the cockers I've seen those things blow off so many times it's scary
