this just might be my crazy side talking..but i think it would be pretty cool for WDP to come out with a new Angel LED, u know just kind of a basic model of an Angel at a cheeper price, with out all the bells and whistles...if you know what i mean.....but anyways...it would be pretty cool...

exactely...hell, if it was practicaly an IR3, just with out the LCD and at a lower price...i would get it...

I can imagine...A LED based off of an IR3. Same internals as an ir3, same body, the space frame, etc.. None of the gizmo's like a LCD, cops, gated feed, firing modes, etc.. Just pure semi-auto, blinky light fun. It would probably allow for a cheaper price tag, and appeal to people who might otherwise not be interested in an angel. I love my LCD, but the LED i own is also an awesome marker. I would love to see a new version come out. WDP probably would never do such a thing though.

see what i was aiming for was just mainly getting rid of the shooting modes....keep the cops and possibly the gated feed...just a basic marker.....i mean really...not that many ppl use all the modes anyways...ha....more than often in the ir3 they are locked.....

ha ha ha...funny....the bushy is not near as good as the angel when it comes to new technology...all i am saying is get rid of the lcd and the firing modes...keep everything else that the ir3 has....u would have a basic model of a kick ass gun....and at an affordable price..i believe WDP could make some money of it ....

I've thought of the same idea, but I'm not sure that they could make them much cheaper, and still make the gun shoot like an Angel.

The LCD screen and Cops sensor don't really cost that much. If they stripped off the little bells and whistles the gun would still probably cost over $1000. Because most of the expense is in the internals, the body, 14-way, ram, valves, reg, etc. And if they made the internals of cheaper quality then it wouldn't shoot like an Angel anymore.

They could probably make a stripped down IR3 for say $1000, but most people would probably spend the extra $300 to get a loaded IR3. And then WDP would only end up selling a small amount of "stripped IR3s"

ANd most people would probably rather spend $1000 or less on a nice, used, but loaded IR3 or LCD, than spend $1000 on a new stripped Angel LED.

youve got a point there....but you figure how much of the money that an angel cost is going towards profit.....i believe if they made a stripped down model of the IR3, they could get the price around 800-900 dollars...easily...and personally..i think the could make a pretty good profit off of it...cause nobody needs all the modes that they give you....

Well, to make an electronic gun you still have to have an electronic board, and the main difference between a board with modes and without modes is the software. And since the software is already developed it doesn't really cost anything to add modes to the board.

Leaving off the modes might save you $50, and leaving off the LCD screen might take off another $50, and the COPS sensor wouldn't take off much more either.

I don't think they could sell one for cheaper than $1000 without cheapening the way that the body or the internals are made.

To really lower the price, WDP would have to make a cheaper and poorer shooting marker, and I don't think that WDP would make a lower quality gun.

The only other solution would be for WDP to cut their profit margin, and sell the guns cheaper. Lord knows that ain't gonna happen!!

Considering the WGP Orracle sells in the same price range...I'll keep going to WDP for the Angel.

if anybody could fin the exact prices for these items it would help us in this debate. and how much did the LED's origionally sell for?

I think that a new LED cost about the same or more as an LCD.

NO NO NO.. what wdp should of done was continue making lcd angels with only semi auto (since all modes are locked on mine anyway) and knocked 100 to 200 off. Sell them along side the IR3. IR3 could be the pro model while the lcd is the rec model, (but only in name). anyway, i have brought up this point before on PBgaynation and every body shot it down (about the led type of angel). i though it would be cool to have like a 700 dollar Angel, name it Gabrial (angel of death), and anno it in a dust black only (no other colors) Now if wdp had an IR3 C&C body (or standard), with IR3 internals and used an lcd board (cheaper then the IR3 board i would think) with your choice of single or double trigger, and annoed dust black. how many of you would buy one???

yeah i think thats what i will do, until next spring, then i may have my angel milled into a supafly and annoed dust black. what would be really cool is that, if i could get a hold of any and all lcds 2k to 2k2 have them all milled super light, annoed dust black and then rebuilt. and sell them for cheap as possible. but of course it would probably cost more then a new IR3 to do, soooo thats out of the question.
