In case you haven't heard yet, WDP is releasing a new Angel tomorrow!

Info below is copied from the p8ntballer forums (home of PGI magazine)...

Stop Press! We’ve just discovered that WDP are due to be launching a new Angel at their booth in Stockholm, Sweden’s venue for the Millennium Series. The launch is scheduled for Thursday (that’s tomorrow, by the way). This Angel is set to replace the IR3 as the premier marker in WDP’s range.

WDP launched the awesome Angel Speed less than four months ago in Las Vegas, and have apparently been swamped with orders ever since. The news that yet another new Angel is ready for release came as a surprise to us, and probably will do to other folk who’d thought they were in the know. We’re not entirely sure how those Brits have found time to launch two new markers and open a US office and distribution warehouse, while creating Pure Promotions and the superb Super 7 Series, all in seven months. It’s possible John Rice may have invented a time machine.

The Angel has already won the Millennium Series title (with a little help from Team Dynasty!) after just four events and four wins. Dynasty also look set to win the World Paintball Series for the second consecutive year, and the NPPL title, which would make them Triple Crown Champions for an unprecedented two years running. Dynasty are terrifying enough already – who knows what they could achieve with a new and improved Angel in their hands…

Interesting. I Hope TAG gets some in his shop soon so I can try one out.... I love my timmy but it would be nice to have a gun that bob can work on (I'm local :D), but I can't stand the trigger on the Speed. Hopefully this one will be better.

you can get a cobra flat trigger for a speed. The best part about them is that it has the option for putting a trigger spring in for those who don't like the really light pull of the stock trigger.

Well the Speed was meant to be low cost, it wasn't meant to be "THE" WDP gun. It was meant to compete against lower priced mid-range guns. Though the features are high-end, the Speed was never meant to be the best WDP gun. That's why they're coming with a new one. Everybody knew prior to the release of the Speed WDP was releasing two guns this year. One a mid-range, which was the Speed, and the successor to the iR3. I personally chose not to buy the Speed because I had an idea the new gun would come soon. The original target date was the World Cup, similar to VForce and the release of their new mask, but I guess WDP wanted to blow everybody out of the water now and release the iR4, or whatever they plan to name it as.

The Speed was not meant to replace the iR3. It was a lower cost alternative. Sure it had some improved features but as soon as it was released I knew they'd have a true 4th generation gun with the best of both the iR3 and Speed. That is why anyone who wanted the "best" (like myself) waited.

I'm sure the Speed will continue being produced as a lower cost alternative to their new iR4 (or whatever it will be called).

Thats after an online translator translated it and from what i get it will be called the IR4 and will have ACE and an LCD. It will also have a medium and long volumizer. Also, a 15 way and a 3 tube design.

I just feel really dlcked. Even if I sell my speed for $800, this gun is probably going to carry a more "typical" price tag of $1,600ish. That means another $800 for me to not have to deal with broken SENSI sensors.

it has a foam bolt (softer),
and it is smaller, lighter and faster then the speed.

didnt they make Sensi to reduce user error messing up Cops? And cant speed owners buy this bolt aftermarket? and ... faster, smaller, lighter? how fast, small, and light can you get? i dont think anyone can honestly complain that the speed is too slow, big, or heavy.

yes, as of now i think everybody is puzzled on what exactly other than a lcd is going to be soo different b/w the ir4 and the speed. I guess its a wait and see kinda thing.

i got a speed and compared to a Timmy in size.......its quite big , heavy and wide.

The milling is pretty uninspired, and I don't like that trigger. Also, WTF is up with that guage? Why is it on the back and for that matter, why is it even there? You don't need it, and it looks fugly backwards like that.

God, do I ever hate volumizers! I like the clamping feed neck though. I'd like it better if it was a low rise.

Cosmetically unimpressive... time will tell what the performance is like. Probably great... they always are. It looks good on paper, although I don't buy into the LP hype and I'm a little wary of a "rubberized" bolt.

Still, I think I'll keep my Fly iR3.

ok so i buy a soft touch bolt and 3sum pack a twist lock gated feed dont need to adjust my trigger on the field so blah to that venier thinger A4 shoots 1 bps faster than my speed..... dont need an lcd hmmmmmm i wonder......

sounds like a good gun. "Most accurate ever" . Probably can get rid of the gauge by taking off the frame and the trigger is probably decent and there will be always aftermarket triggers.

hopefully there will be C&C and/or fly versions. By the time any of us see those what October, maybe I'll buy one. Unless they make a impressively milled one i will be sticking to my Fly ir3.

I don't think I'm hard to please... I just really like my iR3 and don't see the point of dumping it for something new just because it's new. Why toss aside something that works perfectly for you in favour of the "latest thing"?

Also, I really don't buy into the whole LP nonsense. I do think this is a major improvement over the Speed, but it's not revolutionary enough for me to drop my iR3 for. Maybe next year.

mychemicalromance, also, cut about 1/2 inch from the back of your gun, buy a CNC milling machine, steal the CADs, mill about another 20% of your gun away, buy some nitric acid and heavy duty car batteries and dye, make an at home annodizing lab, then also, you can go buy all that ****, but make sure you didnt totally **** your gun up, and make sure that you cut down your ram too, because now you are gonna have to make sure your ram stroke is perfect, becareful tho, all that cutting might create a few odd problems that will probably not be covered by any warrenty on the face of the earth.

did you notice the body style comment, and the horse power was relating to the fireing rate. There are notable differences, just like the RSX/integra, but the RSX type S is, in theory, an Integra GS-R, just looks different and "shoots faster"

i was in deed arguing its a forum.... for disussion then mayhem decides to start pbnation- like trash talk..... anyways on to my original post speed and a4 both operate at the same pressures shoot just as fast as one another and as for the bolt... im sure u can get that as a after market upgrade..... so then what incentives do u have to trade in your speed for an a4.... performance reasons mind you.... not mambojambo looks
