View Full Version : How do I change the AIR batteries?

Umm yea > I want to change the battery to my ange air . In the mannual it says to drain the tank then remove reg from tank .. Do I have to do that csant i just take off the plastic piece and change the battery .. Also were can I get these batterys .?

yes you need to fully remove the bottle. the reason being is that when you replace the batteries you have to zero out the regulator, when you replace the batteries and plug it back in it should say 'set data' this is all described in the manual.

with the tank off, you need to push the button in for a few seconds until it initializes, I don't remember the exact page, but look under changing batteries.......:doh:

ok here what I did .. I just zeroed out the output pressure then changed the bateries . it said need set up so I just pushed the button .. Yes Im stupid but the tourney was like starting in two minutes . Well now my digitial reading is messed up when I have a full tank it says I only have 1000 so I hope I didnt do any inreversable damage .. if so that sucks ..

let ALL your air out

take the tank off

remove the batteries and let it sit for a few minutes and FOLLOW the directions in the manual!!!!!!!!!!!

emmm Is that what I should do to fix my problem or is that what I should have done in the first place and now im screwed ?
Oh yea How hard is it to remove the tank from the reg ? just simpliy unscrew it ? and does it need anything to put it back on im gonna use LOC TITE ! lol ok I know thats a bad no no .. but can I use teflon ?

I'm telling you what to do right now........

what it sounds like is you REALLY need to read your AIR manual, not only could you have avoided this problem, but you also would know that you NEVER put Loc-Tite on the bottle when putting it back on. Once you've relieved all the pressure in the tank the bottle will screw right off, it's only hand tight (depending upon who's hands put it on might determine how tight it is tho)
